Brilliant - just, brilliant.

Ever thought of after dinner speaking?

He's always speaking after dinner... And breakfast and elevenses and tea and supper and midnight snack...

On Monday, I attended a bit of a soirée in Derby. It was all going very well until this young Czechoslovakian Roma gentleman arrived.

Within two minutes, all the females went fluttering to him like moths to a flame.

Personally, I can't see the attraction.

PS- On an unrelated matter, do you think I would suit long hair?

Right, just going to plant my early tates.

Sow my parsley and carrots.

Please note, proper early tates, not salad taties.

I expect regular updates, with special priority given to any instances of blight or Colorado beetle.

As ye sow, so shaly ye reap.

This news story should win the "No Shit Sherlock" award for stating the bleedin' obvious.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8572148.stm

"One in five of the 3.6 million people buying a second-hand car from a dealer each year experienced a problem"

"Some 67% of problems with these cars - often mechanical - came to light within a month of the car being bought"

"An estimated one in eight cars have a "mileage discrepancy with the average car clocked by 67,000 miles.
Some legitimate instances of correcting mileage exist - such as when a counter is broken and replaced, or when a digital counter's software fails. However, the OFT claimed that this was insufficient to keep 50 companies in the UK - which openly offer mileage correction services - in busines"

"Following a nine-month study of the market, it decided existing laws were sufficient"

"We strongly encourage car buyers to go to a reputable garage"

Sorry to keep linking you to the bits of news that interest me during my morning catch up, (It's like when someone is reading the paper and reading bits aloud) but Wow! This story has really had an impact on me.

I think the conclusions they drew were the wrong ones though. It's not, imo, the power of television that causes ordinary people to cross the line.

Throughout history, ordinary people, whole communities, sometimes even entire nations have committed terrible atrocities en mass

The vast majority of them had never seen a television.

what a load of bollocks. the experiment's been done before with the exact same results. obv nothing to do with the power of tv and if they seriously didn't expect those results then they need to get better researchers

What are these, and why does every square yard of my field suddenly have 3 or 4 of them? They are about the size of a 2p piece.
