They are also made by squirrels, we have several similiar holes in our garden.
I can't work out how a squirrel could make such a small, perfectly round hole though. Unless he has one of these....  so youve got it, got all my hole saws but some bugger 'borrowed' the bit that goes into the drill. my brain surgery career is somewhat stalled without it |

I've been watching them in the garden, its a bit hard to explain but they appear to start digging by going round in circles then burrow their noses in until they pull out whatever was in there. This morning it was some sort of small red berry. |

Been learning about Voyager 2. Stone the crows! I mean, how the devil did they fix it form all that distance away? That little red tube on their can of WD40 must have been very long. |

I was walking along the carr dyke last week and saw a sparrow hawk trying to catch a kingfisher, luckily i startled the hawk and Mr kingfisher survived. |
