Agree Tom, not saying we shouldn't be donating to HFH, however as you say, it could be more transparent.

I actually find it more annoying that any service person having to leave the forces due to injuries etc suffered are no longer under the umbrella of the MOD and their projects and have to rely on projects such as Mark Wright, Erskine and The Haig foundation.

Geo

Yes. People are entitled to know what percentage of their money is going where and what it will be used for.

I signed up to donate £2pm once, I did it through a fund raiser on the street. I cancelled it in protest after just over a year because I was being absolutely swamped by letters, emails and phone calls asking me to donate more or to support other causes.

Now I find out that in all probability, none of my money actually reached the charity.

I'm not saying don't donate, just make sure your money goes where you want it to go.

I don't really understand this. (What else is new?)

If house prices fall, and you sell your house, the next one you buy will cost less.

If house prices rise, and you sell your house, the next one you buy will cost more.

If you don't sell your house, it doesn't matter anyway. (Or am I missing something?)

Also had to look up a dish that I've never heard of, "Zee Dee". (I bet Ralph knows what it is)

Sorry Tom, Zee-Dee has me completely snookered behind the eight-ball and angled to boot.

Zelly says you're a lightweight Ralph

She's clearly not seen him lately.

You buy house that costs 100k

you put up 10k, bank lends you 90k
10% of the house is yours

A couple of years passed, you pay the bank back 5k, still owe them 85k

so 15% of the house should be yours?

Thing is, the prices have now fallen, your 100k home is now only worth 80k in the marketplace

You still owe the bank 85k
-6.25% of the home is now yours

I own more of your home than you do

hope this helps

But if you wanted to buy a 150k home you'd need to find 125k to buy it (assuming it has fallen 20%).

New price: 120k
Debt: 85k
- Old house value: 80k
Total: 125k

If prices hadn't fallen you'd need 135k
150k
85k
-100k

And if prices rose you'd need even more.

So your original assertion was correct too.

Nothing better for a bit of relaxation than cutting a bit of grass...unfortunately my lawnmower packed up ages ago so my neighbour does it for us.

That's true, but my grass is taking the piss.

I think it's jealous because trimmed the shrubbery. God help us when I wash the horse.

I've just been trying to work out why the text suddenly looks different on blonde, it's gone all sort of big and bold.

After ten minutes playing with the settings, I realised that I have my glasses on.

Is it true you once had all your windows replaced and then found you had crack in your glasses?
