What if you have one 80 multiplied by nothing?
Then its nothing, you only get 80 if you multiply it by 1.
So what happens to the 80 that you had before you multiplied it by nothing, i.e. did nothing with it?
Well if u did now't with it its still 80 lol
So 80 multiplied by nothing is still 80 like I said.

As long as you mean nothing as in no calculation yes, if you mean zero then no.

I assume you're happy with 80x1=80. nothing has happened to the 1 just the same as nothing has happened to the 0 in the previous question
it's just that you've got 80 lots of 1 (or 1 lot of 80) which equals 80
same as 80x0=0 because you've either got 80 lots of nothing or no lots of 80 both of which equal absolutely zilch
the zero times table is lovely and easy because anything multiplied by zero is zero
1x0=0
2x0=0
3x0=0
lovely and easy to remember

I dunno if your winding me up now lol.
But the best way to think about it to make logical sense is, do your 80 times table from 1 to 10, after you have done that think where 80 x 0 fits in on the table and what the logical answer is. If that doesn't help I give up

The rules governing the use of zero appeared for the first time in Brahmagupta's book Brahmasputha Siddhanta (The Opening of the Universe),[26] written in 628 AD. Here Brahmagupta considers not only zero, but negative numbers, and the algebraic rules for the elementary operations of arithmetic with such numbers. In some instances, his rules differ from the modern standard. Here are the rules of Brahmagupta:[26]
* The sum of zero and a negative number is negative.
* The sum of zero and a positive number is positive.
* The sum of zero and zero is zero.
* The sum of a positive and a negative is their difference; or, if their absolute values are equal, zero.
* A positive or negative number when divided by zero is a fraction with the zero as denominator.
* Zero divided by a negative or positive number is either zero or is expressed as a fraction with zero as numerator and the finite quantity as denominator.
* Zero divided by zero is zero.

Isn't zero divided by zero 1?

Yes. I get it now.
My problem is, I imagine numbers as physical, tangible things. As soon as you say 80, I assume I have 80 of something and until you take them away, I get to keep them.
Now I understand that 80 x 0 means that I had nothing in the first place.

or indeed impossible as you can't divide by zero (but ffs don't tell tom that, his head may explode)
