Didn't know where best to post this at first, but thought this thread would be the one.  People on here know their onions, so I was hoping they know their trees as well.

This is a tree in the back garden, looking out from my office window.  All the deciduous trees in the garden have red and golden leaves, and most have very few leaves left on them after the wind last night.  But this tree seems to think it's the middle of summer. It's either an evergreen, or it's one stubborn bugger.

Any idea what make it is?

Bit late to the quote party, but a couple I heard this week for the first time in ages:

'Here lies the body of William Jay
Who died maintaining his right of way -
He was right, dead right, as he sped along,
But he's just as dead as if he were wrong.'

And

I used to fell loads of eucalyptus. They grow like bloody hell (I'm talking  ~ 10ft a year.

PS- I still have all my tree felling equipment......

Nice one Sir Dog!!  The Koala in its branches should have given me a hint.  So I guess that'll mean it'll be hanging on to those leaves then.  It's got a lovely bark on the trunk too, a nice tree to look at all round really.

It's too small. I can't see it even with my bins on.
