Planning on spending the day walking Edinburgh taking pics, can't make up my mind whether to do the city itself, the coast, riverside or hill walk .
If you had the choice, which would you choose?

Pencil in the city for another day though Geo. I've never been to Edinburgh and it would be nice to see it through a native's eyes.

This guy does a lot of good stuff around Edinburgh (though I occassionally have to correct his geography.) It's mostly black and white with great depth to the pictures, he tells me he uses some fancy equipment though. His latest ones were in colour and I really like the one of the International Space Station passing over the city.

I am going to follow part of the Union Canal today, starting in the city centre and walking out back towards home.

Perhaps doing 'Our Town' might make a good next theme for the camera club thread.

Hinckley might be a bit of a challenge but it would be fun all the same.

Two goldfinches in the rain.

Focus is a bit off, but I did take it through a wet window.

Never seen those before that I know of, very nice indeed! Off on my second nature walk tomorrow, doing Blankney again and following the same route as we did in the snow. After that the plan is to go to Whisby, Hartsholme and Doddington park over the next couple of months, all of which are pretty much on my doorstep. Gotta love Lincs.

Remember this wee guy?

Rod passed on part of his knowledge of these things thus:

"That's a Dipper Geo - lovely wee birds. Do most of their feeding underwater & will dive under some really big waters. A good sign that the water's healthy too."

Well today as I made my way up through Colinton Dell I met one of his muckers.............................................

I remembered what Rod has said so after taking a couple of shots I sat down and decided to see whether our wee chum would do any "dipping"

I settled nicely on the bank hoping that he would get used to me being there and waited, probably about 45 minutes.

It was well worth the wait. Best viewed in full screen

Don't think I have ever felt so pleased with myself

Incredible, thank you. Every right to be pleased with your efforts, that is extraordinary, and must be most satisfying for you.
