I met (and hugged) Supernova for the first time this weekend.
She had just bubbled one of the events, (which is always a bit of a bugger) but she should be proud that she went so deep.
Huuuuuuuge blush here.
Yes a hug indeed and an even better one the following night. I'm sorry I was very emotional after bubbling my first H.O.R.S.E event in 7th place to say the least, I really wanted the win, what a result/story that would have been! I also played my first Stud tourney & finished 14th. Got it in good twice in the ME too which is all you can ask of yourself. Still learning, still improving, still have a few heath issues,
still manage to break or blow up nearly everything I touch.
Still believing in laughing for the win x
Oooh! A fellow breaker and blower upper. It's not just me then?
Do tell. Confession is good for
a laugh
the soul.
LOL no Tom, it's not just you! I'll think of a couple to post in the next day or two. Now though I have to go out & restock from being away. At the moment I live a stones throw away from a famous racecourse. It's fab most of the time but after today the main road will be blocked off during the day and it's all a pain....
"I'll think of a couple to post in the next day or two."
I'm holding you to that.
Fml...still working on the first little ditty and already up to paragraph 5. Did I say I didn't post much...cough!
I thought you had forgotten.
No no, paragraph 6 is blowing the electrics. Downhill from there on. Be careful with the popcorn Tom, I think it's a little fattening and to quote a famous explorer, I may be some time.....I can honestly say I'd never win a contribution to forum posting award anywhere.
Paragraph 6? Blimey!
You could post them individually, like a TV mini series, or all together, like an epic disaster movie.
Hehe......I like randomness so here it is, shortened but still tl,dr etc etcl...only because I was concerned about the popcorn.
Moving abode, stressful & I’m still not sure if it’s harder or easier on your own. Spent 2 weeks boxing up and it’s no surprise that I still managed to find & book the Scouse version of the Trotters. Fml. The Trotters arrive 90mins late. 4 hours later I’m in and 80% of the boxes I’ve labelled are in the wrong room. I can’t find the box containing my tools. Nor the box with the kettle. I resort to using a pan & have a cuppa. Decide not to worry about the tool box & spend a couple of hours put the boxes in the right rooms. I nip to the car & find a screwdriver & begin to lay out the pieces of the bed to assemble. I then realise one of the temporary wardrobes ordered to go into the alcove at the bottom of where the bed is going had to be built first or I’ll never get it in the space so I build it and fill it up with clothes, I then find the box with the bedding in & this is where it begins to go a bit pear shaped.
I start to put the bed together. It’s going dark. I put the bedroom light on. Nothing. I look at the light socket. No bulb in it. I go and look at the rest of the bulb sockets. No bulbs in any of them the previous tenants have taken every single one with them. I have bulbs in a box somewhere, I go rummaging and find the bulbs about 30 mins later. I then realise I can’t reach the bulb sockets & the only strong piece of furniture I have to stand on is a coffee table which is too short. Doh. I make another cup of tea sit on the bedroom floor, resist crying and have a think.
I have bedside lamps so I plug them in and put the top end of the bed together. There isn’t room and I’m too tired anyway to turn it around besides which it’s quite wobbly and I don’t want to break it. The cables on the lamps are not long enough to reach the bottom of the bed so I go & find an extension lead so one of the lamps can be moved to the bottom of the bed. I plug the lead in. Bang. Darkness. Fcuk. Shi*. Bollox.
Luckily I know I have a torch in one of the bedside cabinets so off I go to find it and to go downstairs to the electrics box. The electric box is just that. No fuse box. I now sit on the bottom step and cry with tiredness & frustration. I then get angry and stomp upstairs to find the bloody fusebox. I look in all the kitchen cupboards, everywhere, can’t find it and start cursing. Eventually I think fook it & find the alcohol, I poor a large brandy & sit on the floor in the bedroom and take a large swig & a light bulb comes on in my head (!) & I start throwing the clothes out of the wardrobe because I remember seeing a small thin cupboard on the wall. Yay. I flick the switch and I have 1 working lamp. I swop the extension leads, have two lamps, finish the bed, throw the mattress & quilt on, finish another large brandy and climb in the quilt fully clothed, curse the birds outside – it’s 5am and sleeeep…..

Not really. I got pretty much owned on that table, especially by the young man in seat 8.
I was in a bit of a hole all night but did manage to dig myself almost all the way out in the end.
It was nice to finally meet you too. You look nothing like I imagined.
I thought you would be like...
And actually you were like....

Of course it's a compliment. I little bit tongue in cheek I'll admit but a compliment none the less.
Loved your Africa shirt btw. Very Doubtfiresque.

I didn't even know that Wesley Snipes was in prison in the US. How the Hell does someone in his position manage to get thrown in jail ffs?

Viewing figures on Red's Diary shoot up as he eventually discovers popular subjects.....
Hope it attracts more interest than my pigeon cruelty story.
PS - the guy who attempts the Tube record. Presumably, he just buys one Travelcard, & that does him for the whole day? Proper bargain that.
