Well I thought I'd try & liven it up for him, Rod, Post some stuff which was more interesting than His Red-Ness's usual blather & bollox.
Just showing how much I care, really.

You're on Red's payroll, because he can see that oxfordjonny's diary is starting to catch up to this one

I wanted to get all the windows on my camper-to-be tinted in 'limousine' black. All except the driving windows that is.
I rang around and finally settled on a quote of £180 from a firm near Leicester city centre that had good independent reviews.
I arranged to drop the car off this morning, in the hope that it would be ready by ~ 14:30 because I have a hospital appointment at the Leicester general at 15:30, but I told them not to rush, if it wasn't going to be ready I would walk to the General, as it's only about 3 miles.
So I dropped it off, and a nice chap did the paperwork and confirmed the shade of tint etc, then I handed over the keys and took a stroll into the city centre.
An hour or so later, I get a phone call from boss of said firm saying they can't do all those windows for that price. (Mine is a high roof version, see pic) I told him that his salesman had quoted to do all those windows, and he said that the salesman wasn't aware that it was a high top, but that wasn't true because I made a point of telling him about it.
Anyway, the boss told me that the real price should be £400, and that there was no way he would have taken on the job for the quoted £180. I told him that I believed him, (which I did) but the mistake was down to his salesman and not me.
The salesman again denied knowing that it was a high top, so I pointed out that no one had said anything when I dropped it off either. (No hiding the fact that it was a high top then.)
The boss conceded this point and offered to reduce the price to £300. I asked him if the work had started and he said it had, which caused me to think I was in a reasonable bargaining position, and after a bit of haggling we settled on £200 all in, which I think was very reasonable of me under the circumstances.
The downside (or upside, depending on your point of view) is that it definitely won't be ready now until at least 5:30. So I have lots of time to kill.

I'm writing this, and I'm sure that no one will have the slightest idea what I'm on about, but.....
Have you ever had that feeling that you have just taken possession of your mind and body at this very moment?
It's like a feeling of, hang on, where did this life come from and how did I get here? Its like you've been in suspended animation and you've just regained consciousness, you have to kind of stop and take stock. Everything seems really strange and a bit scary.
Just me then eh?
Thought so.
