I'm a little surprised that Tikay's not joining your gang as I'm sure he said that he used to be a real motorbike enthusiast.

What size helmet fits you best Tom ?

XL

Too  easy.

Prior to buying my bike i had not been on ebay for about five years. I had forgotten how much good stuff there is on there.
Have recently purchased , Leather Jacket , Motorcycle gloves,Trickle battery charger,Rear brake pads,Haynes manual and 2 pairs of shoes.

Currently on my watch list - 2 x books , Scottoiler oil , Fairing bolts and lug nuts ,Leather trousers,Motorcycle boots, regular boots,Top box , Crash helmet x 2 ,wax jacket and 2 x jumpers.

Fun times.

I probably owned, at various times, 8 or 10 motorbikes, both solos & combos.

I'm hurt that they never invited me, but I'm be too young for all this pootling & bimbling, which seems ideal for them, especially booder.

My last combo was ex AA, a single stroke 500cc "long-stroke" BSA.

To kick start it was quite an art, especially with the nagging fear of "kick-back".

To avoid that, there was a little decompression lever on the handlebars, & with that engaged, you could find the top of the stroke then give it the old heave-ho.

Electric starters are for wimps, obv.

The chassis never had the AA "box" on it, so left-handers were a bit hairy.

Those long stroke engines fired about once every lamp-post.

I'm toying with the idea of fitting a front window Boo. What do you think?

When north of 70 I am not sure you should, they might affect your circulation or something.

How old is Booder anyway?

Post a picture of an object or news item that made it's debut in the same year that he did. (realistic estimates only please)

I'm going for this.

As long as you get one that is an adequate height they are a definate plus to riding comfort.

Pros.....
Prevent debris from the road hitting you.
Eases the wind pressure on your chest allowing you to relax your arms and shoulders more.
Keeps you warmer in cooler weather.
Prevents you getting splattered with bugs
Keeps more rain off you and your instruments
Lower wind noise

Cons...
Reduces your MPG
You get warmer in hot weather
Helmet buffering
You dont get that "wind in your face " feeling

All about personal preference really - i prefer one.

I'd like to try one.

I don't fancy helmet buffering though...
