"I know I could have Googled it, but I was going to wait for Rod to answer because it's nice to interact and it paves the way for more dialogue".
THIS.
I say this all the time. When I used to want to know something, lets say for instance, sat on my break in the mess rooms, I would openly ask a question and it would result in good old interaction. Nowadays it is all too easy to Google and sit in silence. The art of conversation is dying.

Red, Dave was laughing because I'd said I used horseshoe nails in the original post
He wasn't being mean.
Anyway, it's the flat sides that make them useful - they don't indent the lead much.

I love the american woodsman stuff - and some of those were really good. The flu-flu arrow was a great idea.

Ah. My bad. How did I miss that?
Apologies to Dave.

Oh Yeah..
What a palaver we had with it.
We tried using the hydraulics to turn the stilsons like I said, and they flew off all lethal projectile-fied, like Matt said.
We ended up ringing the manufacturer and we learned that unlike most tines, these don't unscrew, they just push out. So we tried the tine next to the broken one and that's what it did. However, our broken one wouldn't play ball.
In the end we welded a big nut over the back end of the hole where the tine sits, and we wound a high tensile bolt in to push the tine out.
Kind of like this but with a smaller nut and a bigger bolt.

Next we hat to replace the propshaft on a very old muck spreader.
Mid prop, you have to use an extending joint. This is done by sliding one pipe inside another. Now if the pipes were round, they would slip when they turned so to combat that they use pipes shaped like the ones below.
So the pipe is named after the shape, 10 points if you guess the name.

I fitted some coms into my motorcycle helmet and it's opened up a whole new world. Now I can chat to John, (who has fitted the same kit) listen to the radio and link to my phone via bluetooth, which means I can take calls, use the sat nav etc.
I've done a field test and I pronounce it fandabbydozy.

Meanwhile, Mrs Red has been to the car boot sale and bought me a gorgeous little handbag to match my jacket.
