Not an easy read, but an amazing one. You'd think there would be an easier way to effect the transfer of the microbes, but presumably not. Would you prefer to ingest it via by mouth, or via rectum, Sir?Umm......

I've come to the conclusion that women just can't work car heaters.
They drive for a few miles and decide that they are cold so they turn the heater and the fan up to full, then open all the upper vents and point them to face level. All the below dash vents are ignored, this is because apart from a handful of skimpy material, they have spent the majority of their lives naked from the waist down and don't feel any sensation of cold in that region, add to this the fact that their feet have been battered into inappropriately shaped shoes for so many years that they are now nothing better than dead lumps of meat, totally devoid of feeling. Now you begin to understand why they have no need of below-dash heating.
After driving a few more miles with the heater blowing a furnace blast directly into their face they suddenly decide that it's too hot, but, instead of turning the heater down a bit, they go into a kind of fit, (no doubt brought on by having spent the last fifteen minutes breathing air that has no oxygen in it) and in a blind panic, turn all heating, fan, vent and related switches to the off position.
Two minutes later, the windows steam up and they have to roll them down because they cant see. Rolling the windows down ruins their hair so they quickly roll them up again, but now they are cold...
When I get into the car, how I find it depends on where in the cycle they were when they got out.
I get:
Everything turned off.
Everything turned on and pointing at my face.
Seat wet because windows have been left down.

Ralph sent me this picture, obviously a quick snap taken through his car windscreen. (I'm sure he was parked up with the car in neutral, handbrake on and keys in pocket at the time) | Click to see full-size image. |
I've brightened it up a bit but I'll let Ralph tell us why it interested him. | Click to see full-size image. |

It was actually raining at the time and I found myself directly behind this unusual vehicle whilst on my way to do some shopping in Hyson Green in Nottingham when I noticed the rear window and the chimney on top which suggested to me that it might be a Romany or Travellers "wagon".
I was begging for the lights to change so I could grab a quick snap and they obliged perfectly giving me optimum time to put my limited photographic skillz into practise so I proudly e-mailed the better of the two gloomy efforts to Tom with a little "look what i saw today" message hoping he would be suitably impressed both by my eagle-eye and appreciation of Romany handicraft.
I began to fear the worst when he replied "Blimey! I bet that could tell a few tales".

Well I don't think it's Romany Ralph but it is certainly Romany stylee so I am impressed. I think it belongs to 'new age' travelers and it appears to be built on an old ex army ambulance. Witness the window orientation in this wagon. | Click to see full-size image. |

There is a nest of young robins in one of my conifers. Here's one of the parents with a worm for them. He always uses the corner of the clothes line to check things out before he goes to the nest. | Click to see full-size image. |
Here is a crow that knows the youngsters are in there. He wants to squeeze inside and find them but the tree is pretty close to our window and he doesn't feel safe when his wings are restricted. | Click to see full-size image. |

Great photograph. It's amazing how he got the second bird to fly up from under the water at the same time.
