Is that just the battery charger? Or charger and inverter? It's the charger and the consumer unit/trip-switch thingy combined. The charger bit is knackered but predictably, you have to replace the whole shebang at an astronomical cost. I ended up buying a decent automatic battery charger from Screwfix and wiring it in separately. |

Brrr!
I got cold today while I was farting about underneath Sadie's caravan messing with the battery charger and now I can't get warm.
It's 24c in here and I'm still freezing. (We usually do about 22c)
I just had a look and the WHO's standard for comfort is 18c.
Surely that can't be right, Mrs Red would get hypothermia.

It’s to do with - as I understand it - metabolic rate, lack of predators and natural selection. Basically if you have natural predators, you need to breed quickly before you get eaten. That means you have to reach sexual maturity quickly, which means you have a lot of metabolic strain and this tends to shorten life span. Additionally, any diseases or disorders which affect ‘older’ birds aren’t controlled for by natural selection because they have already bred by the time the defect shows up. Parrots on the other hand can control a bit more for these defects and thus live longer because they’ve fewer genetic defects in old age (somewhat simplistic view, but this is how I understand it) |

Solar is pants at this time of year and the Battery to Battery is less effective when the truck is parked up for a few weeks at a time. I went for a Victron smart charger which seems great so far. |

I'm not sure crows have more predators than Parrots. |
