You don't have to sign up to use Twitter, you can just read it. But by signing up you can choose to "Follow" like-minded people, or Feeds that interest you.

There are plenty of openly "spoof" accounts so a cursory e-mail addy should be fine.

I went to the Twitter Search Box (top right) & typed "Jason Herbert" & amongst the answers was @smashedagain

I don't follow him, so had to search that way, but see the reply by Ralph, simply by Following Jason him you auto get to see his Tweets.

I try to keep my "Follows" down to a manageable level. Remember that if you follow someone, you get to see all the interaction on their feed.

So I happen to follow an acquaintance who is Anti Vaccine Covid is a hoax Trump is great nutjob. And he's very active, so I get to see all that shite when he interact with others, which I really don't want to be exposed to as it makes me cross.  Just take care in selecting who you Follow.
