just a general observation with most tracks - I'm talking about quick away dogs rather than times in general.

Might just be variance of course

I’ll try and post a video when it’s up on YouTube but you have to watch Wildcat winning the Eclipse at Notts last night, dog I saw just unbelievable, if it stays fit there is no dog going to beat it for The Derby. Glad they changed their mind about retiring him after the Derby this year. Stunning performance.

Essex Vase semis tomorrow at the world famous Romford. Best bet for me is Pro Magic from T6 in the 8:21 at 6/1.

Think there's a good chance it goes off about half that. Great draw to work from out wide with zero pace in 4 and 5, and think he can go clear early. Then hope that T4 doesn't get a clear run in behind. Any trouble from the inside 3 would benefit too.

Something like 35:40 can win it.

Hey Scotty,

Skybet are doing an extra olace for that race. Would you say 6/1 the win on bef365, or 1/5 odds 5/1 top 3 on skybet is a better bet?

Thanks

I’m greedy and don’t just want my money back so would rather have my full stake on the win but that doesn’t answer your question. 575m is the very max for this dog so I don’t mind the each way bet, especially given you’re not giving up toooooo much on the win part.

I definitely won't be complaining about the round-trip journey time for the 2019 Greyhound Derby.

It's a little worrying to see that the winner will only get £100K this time around compared to £250K at Wimbledon in 2017.

But putting all that aside, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone here next year and it's a big  from yours truly.

Yep, great opportunity for some dogs and poker weekend, be fantastic if DTD had a festival on!!

Regards the prize money,  Open racing is heading for the graveyard, maybe Sicilian can give his view from someone who buys these dogs but I cant see people wanting to invest in top open race dogs at 23-30k when the biggest race of the year has more than halved in prize money. Other races this year have followed suit and without the exposure from Sky what’s benefit is there to sponsoring a competition. Most tracks seem to be making hay from the bookies grading schedule and I’m sure I saw a tweet the other day about a grader up for sale at some ridiculous price.

It's been at Towcester last couple of years, but your point still stands.

Will be looking to get down at least once for this.

Yes last 2 at toaster.   I think the £250k at the don in 2016 was a false inflated figure because of the hills sposnorship.  The then CEO of hills loved greyhound racing and he give it more than made sense business wise.  Also the hills head of pr back in their sponsorship days (KAte Miller) was also a greyhound nut as well and her dad has sstood at Hove as an on course layer for decades and she grew up around dog racing.  The prize money was always going to realistically fall quite a lot once hills pulled the plug.

https://www.oddschecker.com/greyhounds/ante-post/the-oaks/winner

Semis tonight for this

Redzone are 4 places rather than everyone else who are the standard 3

I have backed Jet Stream Proof with them at 10/1 as that is the only dog they are joint best on.

Safe to say I have no idea of the form or anything but it is obviously  a betting spot with the extra place and Redzone lay a fair bet
