Just finished House of Cards in 9 days. Really fantastic stuff, great if you are missing Breaking Bad and looking for an anti hero. Manages to be easy to follow despite the complex political background and some really shocking twists throughout.

I shocked myself by doing all 5 series of The Wire in 9 days.  Worth every second though.

House of Cards probably next on the list.

For those whose comedic tastes extend beyond Michael Mcintire BBC2 have sneaked a third series of Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle into the Saturday night schedule.

Episode 1 available here http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/bigscreen/tv/episode/b03xhjxh/Stewart_Lees_Comedy_Vehicle_Series_3_Shilbottle

Just started watching True Detective.
Struggling with the accent and the mumbling if I'm honest.

Looks ok otherwise. Maybe my ears will tune into it over time.

McConnaughey does get mumbly, not helped by his accent or the fact he's doing 'Christian Bale as Batman' whispery-growling instead of talking. A few times I've had to spin back to rewatch a line I've missed.

Ironic that as soon as I talk it up on here, episode 6 was a bit meh, which is a worry as there's only 2 left.

So, True Detective has finished now and, unfortunately, the last 3 episodes didn't live up to the first five. Still worth watching, but ended up merely very good rather than OMGAmazeballs.

fking shite

appalling script

Alan Davies looks half-interested these days

formulaic rubbish, series lost its way a couple of years ago

Someone put it down

I'm really quite angry with him tbh, why is he still in it if it's going to be such utter shit?

plot stolen/copied from sherlock, whilst at the same time trying to piss take out of sherlock. then to top it all off they go from the big reveal at the end style to the you see what the feck happened from the start. utter gash.

Ever seen Columbo? Every episode:

1. See the crime being committed
2. Columbo arrives
3. Columbo interviews the culprit without seemingly knowing it was them who did it
4. Culprit is helpful and pleasant
5. Columbo asks "just one more question"
6. Culprit still happy to answer it
7. Columbo turns up at culprit's house at a really inconvenient time (during a party/middle of night/during a heavy shower)
8. Culprit starts to lose patience
9. Columbo apologises.
10. Culprit says it's ok but really can't help any more.
11. Columbo has one more question and explains he can't understand how whoever it was who did the crime was able to commit the crime the way they did
12. Culprit makes a suggestion
13. Columbo explains why that couldn't have happened and then announces that this means the only person who could have committed the crime was the culprit
14. Culprit gets angry
15. Culprit gets into the police car waiting outside and acknowledges defeat to Columbo's brilliance.

It's still brilliant.
