yeh like if i wait 5 seconds or 6 seconds the flop will be different obviously you dont wanna give timing tells away etc so you have to think abit but if i waited 1 second earlier im way more liekly to win etc etc
it doesnt really matter, but obviously it does

Really enjoyed tonight.
It was Adams birthday and we all went for a 3-4 hour huge steak dinner. Was good fun and we had a great crowd out. We all went back to the main grind house and a bunch of us grinded whilst the others played beer pong but everybody is a very good player so people would becoming over, discussing, talking about spots etc, was cool.
I came 12/750 on one tournament, went deep in some others too but eventually lost because of losing in the big buy ins.
My exit on the 1k was really interesting IMO.
I had been playing extremely aggressive and lag on a tight table but then the fish from my left got changed to pmahoney. He decided to play very good and aggressive and I think my next two opens he 3bet me and I folded so I was really over it and decided to play tighter as a natural adjustment to being oop against a good player.
It folded to me on the button with a9o and I said to Dan Morgan "this is such a good spot to 4bc" he very quickly made it 2600, I eventually made it 4666 and called his jam.
Now this looks potentially spewy at first but generally he will have 2 plans. A depolarised 3bet range that will consist of hands like kj and 9ts that he's almost 3betting for value and would likely go ahead and 3bet to take the lead in the hand. A lot of players will want hands with good playability,
Especially against me as he will likely expect me to make life reasonably tough by floating/raising flops etc. however f he feels like I will 4b fold a lot due to thinking in getting ran over he will add in hands that he will 5bet bluff.
The hand just felt exactly like he was going to do that. He 3bet big and quick, often people will make it 2175 or something and usually think about it a little bit. Anyway maybe reading too much into that he decided to basically insta jam after I 4bet which felt very planned/bluffy to me as well and I called and he had 44.
It's almost certain that if he 3bet/5bets 44 he will do it a certain % of the time with wheel aces. Others pros that lead me to doing it were
- if I 4bet and he peels his kj/9t thTs fine by me as in a 3bet lot I will often win the or when we both flop nothing
- a9 is a good hand!
- the 3bet was pretty large for mtt sizings and I will fold a lot post flop and it's over 13% of my stack
- I get the reigns of the table back. If he folds then I get some momentum, if he jams and I call and win I get the don't fuck with me badge and can really push on on a great table
When I saw 44 I was pretty happy about the situation, I feel like if he's decided to have a 3b/5b range then I will dominate some of it and will flip against it, obvious cons are that I can run into an ace Kong that was scared to see a flop so went big or I could also lose against 44 kind kf hand obviously and be knocked out.
I ended up selling this as a package and I'm glad that I take these spots that I feel are plus ev when I really believe in them and don't mind looking stupid.
There was one hand that I played that would/could have gone down as one of the biggest bluffs in online history but I was scared for the people around me to think I was a complete dolt and for everybody who bought to think I punted really hard...
I'll post it tomorrow, I regret not flowing through with it now though.
Tomorrow is a big day online, really looking forward to it, lots of optimism, hope and probably most importantly enjoyment playing. Long may it continue

Found this while trying to explain beer pong to Adams mum.

Not sure yet about plans re moving away from Hungary depending on legislation. Options most likely would be Croatia, Slovenia in the mountains or something. The community in Budapest is so close that we would most likely all move together somewhere I think.
Today didn't go well either. I can't say I played amazing. I didn't really get any stacks to allow me to play aggressive, just ran pretty poorly so it wasn't much fun.
I've really engrossed myself this WCOOP, I spoke to somebody today and I think I'm going to just take 24 hours off of poker tomorrow. No twoplustwo, no blonde, no stars, no skype, no speaking to horses, no railing swaps, no pokertube no nothing. This weekend is so huge and I think just going to eat somewhere very nice, have a big session in the gym, go for a good massage and go to football training and hang our with non poker friends.
Think it will be a really good thing and this weekend will make me hungrier rather than just wake up and zombie myself into a standard session.
About to go to watch American Hustle now. See you guys in a couple of day

If pads is not around for a couple of days I think it's only fair that we turn his diary into a Alan pardew apprieation thread.

The awarding of an 8 year contract to Pards has got to go down as one of the most incred(ibly criminal/bizarre/insert appropriate) football deals I've seen.... apparently he's a great 'yes' man, as I no doubt would be for 8 years managing newcastle. How's the film going Pads? :p

so happy I took yesterday off. I got butchered tonight don't get me wrong, but I took what probably everybody else needed to do.
Coming back to the tables today everybody was spewing so so hard, it was so weird, like good regs or winning regs just doing the most dumb stuff.
Here is some hands from tonights WCOOPs...
Hand 1 - Reg considered to be one of the better UK regs 4bet jams a lot of BBs pre, I'm not sure how call or 4bet/call are not better options? Thoughts? :S
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/10882753_8A376DA306
Hand 2 -This happened a lot tonight, people just taking EVERY spot.
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/10884512_BFCD7ACF7D
Hand 3 -This is probably the most interesting hand. It's a bad beat, but do we think jam is better than call the squeeze? IMO he can dominate me a lot post flop, have implied odds and still shove over cbets etc, on the other hand he's shallowish, what do you think?
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/10884290_FBFCAC8B70
Hand 4 -Same UK reg from the 100r AQ hand, can this really be better than flatting? Thoughts?
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/10884013_DB15AE304E
Hand 5 - Good winning reg, I mean really is this ever ok?
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/10883719_3755718F44
Hand 6 -I'd been aggro previously, but surely tightening up is a better adjustment, this 3bet can never be profitable surely and the 5bet?
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/10883459_07B50FC4C0
Obviously still pretty depressed about how everything is going, especially with the added WCOOP bets on top of everything. So far out of all of the events I've lost big top 20 pots with 50-80% equity in most of the events, all I can do is keep putting myself in those positions and try to get lucky one day to make it all up. In brighter news I chopped the 30c which was only for 2.5k but it is a tough, deepstacked field so it was nice to get some confidence in that. My swaps have been doing pretty crazy well this WCOOP too so not everything is terrible.
Really annoyed about the new legislation, its going to cost me a lot of money. Not only personally but I had planned to start a huge stable and that may be put back now abit due to UK regs (who I wanted to focus on) not being able to play. Considering buying property in Hungary and inviting them all to play from here, would be beneficial for all I guess.
Anyway massive weekend, Saturday is a great day normally and tomorrow we have the $1k 6max which will be a very good tournament as well as everybodies favourite, the 530 progressive super knockout.
Sunday is a big day as usual but theres a $2k as well. I have a football match at 1pm on Sunday so hopefully wont be too tired playing.
Anyway anybody think differently to me on the hands at all tell me, maybe the day i took off yesterday everybody bypassed me :/

Today was pretty "fun" enjoyed playing, cut out all budget tournaments like 30r's and smaller tournaments and really focused.
Came 9th in the hot 75 with 20k ftw which was a little disappointing, lost tt v ak 5 handed when I was doing mental cartwheels when the guy jammed. Cashed the 530 6max which was a tough field, crucial hand was I raised QT on T82fd btn vs bb and he shipped and I called and he has AT. He was aggressive and it would get difficult down the streets, my image is really bad usually, so I think its fine, pretty sure he rips lots of worse hands, including hands that I dominate.
Busted the 1k pretty earlyish, well like 3 hours in. I had a good table except my buddy european on my direct left. Bust out hand was big stack opens the hijac and i jammed 23bbs in the cut off with 33. Didn't love it.
Future is looking very clear now, will continue playing high stakes MTT's, but probably only 100s+ and then play cash games on the side, will be slowly learning PLO. I really wanted to learn it for a long time and after EPT London it will be a good time I think to put in 2 months serious studying into it before 2015. I have some big targets for the game too, but lets see what happens.
Envisage next year basically playing all live 5ks/10ks in Europe at EPT stops, playing a huge Sunday schedule of tournaments each week and then during the week giving the 100r, 320 6max, big 162 and a few tournaments a lot more focus and play cash games on the side, usually no limit, but slowly transitioning into PLO. I really don't want to stop playing MTT's though, I really enjoy them and they "lock" you into a session. Maybe I'll run good live next year, that would be fun.
Location wise I have to wait for Ingrid to travel back to Budapest next week then we will decide if/where we relocate to, if we move from Hungary that is mainly luxury apartments and city centre space we would want to move to somewhere with a lot of green and outside for our dogs.
A house like this is only 1500 euros/month, pretty cheap

This nice 3 bedroom is similar
http://www.sloveniaestates.com/property-details/ljubljana-siska-penthouse-apartment-with-large-terrace-434
Rocco lives there and theres a little bit of a poker community and perhaps Slovenia may be the next hub of where online grinders go to due to good tax/legal stuff.
Saw Captain Phillips again tonight, I didn't like it the first time I watched it, but enjoyed it a lot more tonight. Watched Starred Up yesterday which is like an aggro prison movie, obviously not fantastic plot but pretty fun to watch.
Big day tomorrow with the 2k and the 1k side event. I have a football match at 1pm so will be a little tired but hopefully in good spirits.
Some semi interesting hands
This is vs Steve O Dwyer, I took less than 2 seconds to fold the turn, but wonder what our calling range is, obviously some aces I just stick him in pre. I can't fold the flop, pretty interesting?
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/10898856_1504651D3E
Most ridiculous bluff I've done in a while, not going to go into thought process here because its villain specific
http://www.boomplayer.com/poker-hands/Boom/10898556_D26AD22DD3
This felt pretty close.. Didn't really see how I can fold, but really hard for him to be bluffing, I look like I can have Kx pretty easily, I think his flop call is terrible, but should probably just fold the river ZEEBO THEROM THO
