I'm not 100% sure i believe anyone who's chastising Pleno for wanting recognition from his peers in poker. We're all naturally egotistical creatures who thrive on having our talent and achievements recognised and i really don't think there's anything wrong with that. Sure it's going to sound bad on paper if we're like "man it'd really make me happy if Brad thought i was a sicko" but realistically if it means that much to you then it's going to be a huge motivational driving force which can only be a good thing. Wanting recognition more than money is probably the key factor behind Pleno's continued hard work - if it was just money he'd have put his feet up a long time ago.

Funny night tonight. After the last few tournaments ending somewhat painfully decided to go to dinner with Rob to our favourite place to eat in Vegas. Food was amazing as always and then we went to the Aria, played Paigow (never played this before) which was fun, ran decently well, got a taxi to MGM and played blackjack which went decent.
We decided to play poker, Rob was pretty drunk, I was fine but going along with it all. We made it very obvious to the table that we were here to gamble and would be giving a lot of action. In the first hand I called off a guy with 76s for 50bbs and we were straddling/raising/calling a super wide VPIP. There were two women playing next to each other that were showing each other their cards after each hand and Rob and I were sweating each others hands at the end of all the action. Everybody knew we were the fish but it was fine.
Then it all kicked off..
Ridicuously bad reg opens to 15 (2/5) very, very greedy reg 3bet to 50 from UTG1 and he knew I really didn't like him because he was potting it against me when he had it and just opening to 15x so I wouldn't give him action. He makes it 50 and I have AA (showed down 73 and 76 so far in big pots) and make it 150. He is visibly distressed, I assume he has like ATo, or something and just "knows" I'm fucking with him. He ends up folding and I squeeze out my cards to show Rob. The guy goes crazy "I wanna see those cards, show one show all" This may be the rule but we were just having fun, I told him that if I had to show him then we would leave the table immediately. The rest of the table pleaded for him to not pull the cards out of the deck, he grabbed them and turned them up, we lol'd and left and the table all started arguing and then all decided to quit and were being very angry to the reg. Pretty sad that guys like this can really spoil the game, pretty crazy.
Also WTF, how in the fuck could he fold QQ? I was literally VPIP'n 80%. For the rest of the night I think Rob and I asked each other 30 times, "how the fuck can he fold QUEENS?!"

We played a lot of Pai Gow in Vegas this year.
Always drunk.
Never profitable.
Couldn't tell you now how to play the darn thing!

Pretty sure the rules are:
1. Turn up tipsy
2. Hand over money
3. Get free drinks
[Scene missing]
5. Leave with 97% of what you started with, far worse for wear.

Finished $10k PLO with 179k. Average 80. I swear one of craziest days I've ever had at a poker table. It feels like a dream/nightmare.. It absolutely kicked off. Jesus.

Ha! Don't believe you! What gentleman would?
Good luck today, pads. If, by some painful quirk of misfortune, I happen not to make day two of this planet hollyjohnson comp, I reckon your day three rail tomorrow swould make a decent alternative.
