I think conversations about poker are just as boring tbh.
+1. Sometimes. In moderation it's ok, I find discussing hands with friends a really great way to improve and bantering about other players is always fun, but listening to ppl tell you hand after hand, beat after beat is just so dry. I hate bumping into someone you don't really know and they instatell you a whole bunch of poker storys.
Its inevitable we talk about poker with other poker people as that's what we have mostly in common. But I just switch off after the first couple of minutes normally, guess I've been around too long and heard all the boring shit/cliches there is to hear. Poker gossip about people can be fun though

lol the life of a digitless short supa star
And poker conversations aren't really conversations. You just take it turns to moan and bitch whilst not really listening and just saying "Yeh sooooooooooo sick dude"

Had a really great day today. Me being home was supposed to be a surprise for my Mum. It's her birthday next week and has been really down recently, feeling lonely after her and my Dad split up last year, so really wanted to round up both of my brothers and surprise her and take her and them out to dinner. The surprise was slightly ruined by Mark who told her on the phone I'd just come downstairs, but even so she loved it.
She has choir practice on a friday evening so while she was doing that I went to see one of my oldest friends, Lottie, for the evening. Her parents gave me a good 30minutes questioning on the ins and outs of the poker world, and looked utterly bemused with everything I was saying. It really is a completely different world to most people. I like talking about it though, I think it's interesting and most openminded people, seem to be interested too. I like doing something that people seem interested by, or at least surprised when you say "I play poker for a living". It's a much better reaction than "I'm an xxxxxboring job" - "oh....cool". I also like the idea of changing peoples perception of it just with a few sentences.
I always get the rubs from my brothers about getting a proper job etc and dropping out of uni, that's all in good humour. My parents still obviously don't like it. They now just try to ignore it completely and not ask any questions about it and are just waiting for me to "find my way" in life and get out of the "phase". We both find it hard, because when they speak to me, they want to hear news, but most of my news comes from poker at the moment and they don't want to hear anything about that, which is hard for me too.
Anyway, after a great catchup with Lottie my Mum and I went to pick up my brothers and went for an Indian. Had Rogon Josh (I always thought it was Rogan Josh but in this menu it was Rogon) which was super tasty and we had a lot of fun together. My Mum was definitely cheered up and loved being treated to dinner by one of her sons. It was a great feeling being able to afford to do that kind of thing and it's that kind of thing that motivates me to earn money. And I wanna get a nice car :p
Going home tomorrow in time for the DTD deepstack, If I bust there's a good 6max comp on the sunday too, and failing both of those - might play the sunday million as ive heard its kind of a big deal this weekend...

It's good to be back - in Dtd now, within first 15minutes I get it for 650pot with 74dd vs QQ on Q644. Then I said hello to Mr. Bink whoooop!

Playing 50/1 at dtd - jakally keeps berating fish for calling him with pairs when he's repping nothing. Might go and buy him a glasshouse.
