When we got burgled with 3 other Chinese ppl in one day we reported it to the police

Did fk all gave us little info and they even found the stolen goods but didn't get Any of it back

wtf i find that hard to believe paul?

I don't, I know when I got my garage done the police got a load of the gear back, never heard a word from them.

Not particularly bothered mind you as I had probably already played one round with my new set of clubs  Grin

But if you chased it up or gone to the police station surely you could have gotten it back?

yeah perhaps but didn't feel the need, everything that was nicked was for replacing (Old golf clubs, couple of the wee ones old bikes which were too small etc)

Obv called the local police straight away, no finger prints left, obv not got much hope of getting any stuff back, but still a good idea to get the police involved I thought. They've come round with some smartwater packs and said they'd put in some additional security measures and have recommended a few devices to help in the future. Pleased with the service.

Off to DTD to try and freeroll the new lappie. Morale pretty low in the house atm, a good win would be timely.

Christie showed me this snippet from the new poker player magazine, put a smile on my face.

Terrific stuff there Alex, love that magazine piece, & photo.

Sorry to hear about the burglary thing. It happens. In financial terms it is no big deal really - no worse than losing a half-decent pot at DTD - but psychologically, it really sucks. No different when our cars are broken into - the cash value to us is of no real import, but the fact someone has taken advantage of us whilst our backs has turned is galling.

PS - glad to hear your pianoforte was not nicked. Guess they are a bit of a struiggle to cart away, & the second-hand market has limited liquidity.

I didn't know that the word piano is a shortened form of pianoforte.

I do know that piano's are like women. When they're not upright, they're grand.

Keep smiling Alex. In the big potty of life, this is a very small turd.

A rather lovely word too, I would say, the origin of which is Italian.

The modern piano, the pianoforte, evolved from an earlier instrument called the fortepiano.

Had a fun splash-about in a tough 1/2 game. Keith, Giblin, Stato and Mitch. Decided just to sit short and have a laugh - morale needed a boost so decided to get it in a bunch and try and do some winning!

Ran well. Doubled up through Mitch then stacked Stato, then doubled up through Keith. Only for like 200 a time mind.

Then I saw my good friend Danny Ball on the 50/1 table, who I haven't played with in ages and with him was Peejay and Deadman, so decided to oldschool-alex-style hitnrun the 1/2 boys and head over to 50/1 Tongue

Ran well over there too and had a really good laugh. Much needed, and booked a nice 1k win for the day.

Off to london atm with Hannah to see Les miserables, stay in a nice hotel and do some sightseeing tomorrow. Excited!

its really annoying when you work hard for stuff and play fair only to have some fucking prick feel like he's owed enough by the world to jump into your house and help himself.

Just a horrible part of life I guess...

Did a blog about it after the riots, which i actually got some stick for ( http://lildaveslife.blogspot.com/2011/08/wtf-is-going-on-s.html ) just makes my blood boil, hope you get everything sorted x

Alright Dave! Just curious what kind of stick you got, and from whooom, for penning this?!!

Good shit imo.

Local hero

Where's he from? Nottingham

What's he done? Doubled up on the 1/2 game then insta sat out and goes to play 0.5/1

Tell us about him?  Bum hunter hit and runner

I was all up for you grimming others when I was staking you at 1/2 but never expected you to do it to me. I felt like Darth vader after skywalker severed his hand.
