Might take a shot at a few then, as I defo agree that the £150 is a decent comp given the field size/strength. Anyone know if it's still a 10k starting stack or did they change it back to 15k?

rofl 2p an hour, sicccccccko - make sure you get some NI paid yh Tongue

when you see a good 1/2 game, jump in for 2x £500 bullets and sell half the action, that way you can get the experience of playing in the bigger game without putting financial risk on yourself - it's basically the same as playing 50/1 but the game is doubtless a better game and the experience you gain is crucial for future stepping up plans and confidence.

just make sure you game select WELL when you're doing this.

To be honest, winning nada is not bad for a losing streak.

Had an utterly disgusting night tonight. About four orbits in, I'm winning £50, I've got a great table and I'm feeling confident. We look down at the in a limped pot and check from the big blind. Unfortunately we don't really improve and we still have ten high on the flop on . I stone cold bluff £4 into £6 and two players make the correct call. They then both get incredibly unlucky as I somehow hit the on the turn. I make it £15, villain #1 calls and the drunk businessman from Switzerland quickly makes it £35. Yum yum. I make quite a performance before making the 3bet to £85. Villain #1 folds, Swisstard instaships, I make the instacall. Before the words "good call" can completely leave his mouth, the hits the river and he slaps the onto the felt. I do a bit of a chunder. He's proudly grinning to himself right now, "straight to the jack," he proclaims in a smarmy fashion, "that's poker." If that's poker then I don't know what I've been doing for the past year. I think I took it pretty well. Could really have done with holding there, though...

... Or holding with queen and queen versus Mitch's ace and king. Mitch flopped toppest pair and turned toppest two pair. We did not hold...

... Nor did we hold with from the big on , although we didn't get stacked here. Villain was kind enough to have two jacks and not a king with a jack when the hit the river. Chop up a big one. At least we didn't lose this time...

... Unlike when we find on the button in a straddled pot when it looks like were probably tilting (which we're somehow not, despite being stuck about 20% of our net wealth for the evening). UTG limps, +1 makes it £15. We make it £41 and he snap shoves for £130. We do a little cry because we know what's coming next and call it off. sir? Nice hand. Flopped us dead on sir? What a life.

Over the course of the rest of the night, we starting climbing out of the hole to where we could at least see daylight and finished down £320 after being in for £900. Then Rastafish was legendary enough to get a round of drinks in for the whole club like a hero. At least things went from bad to better, but to sum tonight up in one word: brutal.

Ergh sounds pretty nasty mate. Though getting it in with KK as a 4-to-1 dog is a pretty bad play....

Jokes aside, perhaps playing a bit online may be a good aim for 2012.  The long run in live play can take a veeerrrryyy long time.  Playing 3/4 50c/$1 tables is gonna have around the same outlay as a night at DTD, with more hands per hour and reduced net variance.  Seems that alot of Blondes live on the Ongame network, so may be worth jumping on board.  DTDonline seems pretty fish-populated as well...

Or you could just try running like Alex? Wink

Poker's easy when we are winning, downswings are the ultimate test of character and skill imo, so don't dwell on this month's run badaments.  Go and get there with Q2ss and do some fucking winning! Smiley

dont play on ongame cos other blondes play on it. play on some network full of fish! like the dtd site yeh! if u can take the software that is.

stay away from ongame Tongue

mike's right about downswings. how you deal with them and pull through is the ultimate test.

money not lost can be spent just as easily as money won Smiley
