I wondered why I had a van on my drive

I thought you might be the unlucky buyer until I saw the 'borderline' alcoholic.

Clearly someone else.

In fact I think taking all this man's money is quite a good thing. He will have nothing left to spend on beer and will sober up to the realities of life. His kids will prob thank you for it.

how would you feel if you took it for a test drive and it seemed fine then you found out that it had just failed an mot even though the guy selling it had told you that was due in a month? clearly trying to deceive and it sucks

Hilarious.

If you bought a V reg van for 500 quid would you honestly be shocked when it failed it's MOT and needed a shed load spending on it to pass?

no but I'd be pissed off when the mot guys mentioned that it had failed a test just before I bought it when the person I bought it from had only said that it was due for a test

i he goes to the same mot testing station of course

not since they computerised it. there's a fair chance they'll mention it when it fails on the exact same things as they'll wonder why he didn't fix after the last test

If you had advertised it or tried to offer it to him it would be bad, but seeing as he approached you and clearly wanted it then it's on him imo
