I hope you don't mind me stealing you F1 Senna bet for Tikay's thread, but I did say it was your original idea. Since I saw you do it a while back I have done it 3 times and each time it has weighed in. Enjoy your holiday.
Thanks Hector I have a rather tl;dr post which will come tomorrow with an epic spin up from not much to a small car Wink culminating in a chunk on Senna today at 5/4 points finish as well.....

A WEEK IN THE LIFE OF AN ICE-CREAM

Defo should start a new diary but as have been busy thought I would do a warts and all account (obv Dubai will call me out if anything omitted or wrong!!) of my last weeks punting activities the Chelsea win left £483 in my imaginary account with Dubai and with going away and builders work to be paid for plus the flat not yet through I wanted to just punt with this ideally!!

12/11 I tried to get the odd £83 on the T4T thread bet of E.Sanders anytime Touchdown scorer but a text back from Dub's confirmed the bet was already restricted so no bet was placed and in the end it turned out to be a good swerve.  balance +£483

13/11 I fancied under 3.5 goals in the MK Dons v Cambridge FA Cup replay and got him to put £220 on at 8/11 and there was no sweat with 3-0 half time and a 6-1 overall victory resulting in a balance of £263

14/11 First text to him after a study was £113 @ 9/2 on Marcus Fraser to be top 10 in the Hong Kong Open as he is an accurate but not flairy golfer with a decent course record leaving £150 with him which was then placed on ITUM "to be placed" in the 4.55 Kemp at 2/1 which was not a tip just a fancy that it would lead a long way and hopefully hold for the place and was a perfect call with it getting chinned on the line into second saving the gamblers thought that I should have backed it to win so the balance was back to £450.

DEGEN ALERT - I decided to watch the England match and needed something to sweat but decided on £100 (god knows why but it must be something to do with the fact I'm not holding the money) on First match goal Sweden v England to be "Headed or other part of body"  (obv not FEET)   £100 for 15 mins entertainment and no happy ending!!

Pressed up the Marcus Fraser with another £150 added at 9/2 so we now have £263 on the plodder leaving a balance of £200 and after the first round he shot -3 with Dubai confirming that it makes the sweat funnier when you have never heard of the golfer ** he then told me he backed "top % for the world and top 10 small profit.

15/11 Golfer in tied 8th after second round and wasnt going to place a bet until Barry Neville texts me at 7.50pm to say back T6 in the 8.41 @ Monmore so when it opens up at 9/4 I get £100 on and am not surprised when it does not win as either I am a Bok to his info or its "Variance" as I have kept every text he has sent me for a few months since I posted a winner on the B Tips thread that he bollocked me for and since then would be down massive if I backed them all which I dont!!

16/11 My final £100 with Shallow was placed on Sizing Australia to be placed in the X Country chase at Cheltenham which was a loser and obv now a balnce of Zero with the golfer to run...

17/11 Get up in time to watch the final moments of the golfers 3rd round with him making a great Birdie on 18 to still be in with a shout and text Dubai " needs to shoot 2/3 poss 4 under in final round to be top 5 and give him my banker over goals tip for the weekend which was Lincoln 6/10 and Alloa 1/2  £150 already invested of own funds which sailed in and a profit of £210.

I had placed bets which you will see below to the tune of £160 plus a losing placepot perm at Cheltenham costing £32 and was running good until the 5th leg when I could not get one in the frame and was now reliant in the Football for a Saturday sweat..

As you can see it went pretty well

As I am a complete nit and safe in the knowledge that Camel nor Bad Beat would ever read this I decided that the "Utility" (copyright Honeybadger/Lil D) of safeguarding some profit from this bet was good for me and as the overs was 1/2 hedging some at 6/4 unders was the way to go so placed a nitty £400 to win £600 on under 2.5

18/11 I got up at 5am to sweat the golf to find our man was -3 for his round after 6 holes and despite a bogey on the 9th he made 4 birdies on the back 9 and thought my phone would be buzzing with Gratz from Dubai but despite me keeping him updated he was at some P Diddy party living it up and was dead to the world so woke up to find he didnt have a sweat as he finished 3rd so my final total was £263 @ 9/2 giving a Dubai Balance of £1446.50

Due to Petra doing a photo shoot at home  I had Max for the day and whilst he slept had a study for the F1 race in America and when I research I look at Friday's long practice qualifying, Qualifying in general and all the driver and team quotes from the weekend on various websites and blogs before checking the markets and deciding on a bet and yet again founf they had underestimated the Bruno Senna chances of a points finish at 5/4 as he was starting (at the time of placing the bet) on the clean side of the track and was in 11th so texted Dubai to put £400 on at 5/4, I also thought Sunderland were likely to get more cards vs Fulham and had £220 @ 3/4 and whilst they had 3 cards to Fulhams 2 the market we had to play was most bookings points and one of Fulhams was a Red so it was a 35pts-30pt loser so I pressed another £224 on Bruno Senna leaving a balance of £600 with the bet to run.

Due to bathtime with Max being Dad time and dinner I had Sky plussed the F1 and sat down with the phone switched off for no spoilers to watch the build up to the race and found out that Ferrari hadtook an engine change or something resulting in a 5 place penalty for Massa promoting Alonso to the clean side of the track and pushing our man Senna to the dirty side but he got off to a good start and  was quickly up to 10th before peaking at 8th and eventually despite being in 11th for a while the pitstops were always going to result in a points finish and despite a final 6lap sweat where he was wheel to wheel with his teammate the Dubai balance rose to £2004 and an amazeballs weekend sending us to St.Kitts in great spirits.

Hopefully this time I dont come back to work with the knives in my back like in September....

Well I have now finally had chance to catch up at work/home and catch up with threads on here so can update the past week and St.Kitts where we had an absolutely amazing time and I shall post some photo's up here over the next few days.

St.Kitts was beautifull and I have to say a massive thanks to all at DTD who made it such a special trip and if they were to say they were doing the whole thing again next year my name would defo be on the list. The journey was fine with Maz being really well behaved on the 10 hour flight and it was good to have my friend Steve O'Keefe and his family on the seats behind us so he was entertained and once there you could honestly not wish for a better setting with good food, chilling by the beach or in the pool during the day and a bit of poker at night.

Poker wise I played the "win the button" tourney and was sat to the right of Elwood so basically didnt have to post many blinds but also didnt make much chip progress either and departed 3 tables out and in the main event made day 2 with average chips but exited in 45th or something after losing a pot vs JP and giving him his second double through on the way to rebuilding his stack from 7bb's when I lost A6 v A7 bvb aipf on 1010Q with Foxy chirping up "chop it up for my friends"  Sad but then in the $500 side event on the Sunday albeit a fairly small field we managed a niche flag for the herbiemob

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=165320

Which also meant that having won some $$ in the cash games we came back with $3500 more than we came with and booked a winning trip.

Any readers of this who were there will probably remember this guy
http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/8382/mihaimanole.jpg[/img]]
who was with the Romanian group and in the $500 he just spewed agressively like his friend on my table but he has a very nice herbie to his name with 15 different flags  Wink

The rest of the time I suppose the break was for me anyway a mix of family and lads holiday with Petra (the abs legend that she is) saying on the first day "If you want to spend some time with the boys dw but remember that we are here as well" and I think I had the mix abs perfect as during the day Max and myself were in the pool with Petra just chilling and when some of the heros were around we would be sipping cocktails by the pool bar with them and Max got to meet and high five ledge's from Blonde whilst splashing around.

As Petra had given me a pass out I returned the favour and let her have a couple of evenings out with the girls and I had Max although when she got back I could slip out for a few rum punches  oi oi they were incred!!  I also got chance to play golf with Dempsey on the Monday and despite not hitting a ball for over 2 years shot 37 pts stableford off a handicap of 20 for us to win the team event although I have to say it's a good job I have big shoulders as it was a tough job carrying the big man around that golf course  Wink

Again thanks to DTD and also to everyone who took time to make Petra and Max feel welcome as Poker does not always get good publicity but there was not one badun on this trip and they both thouroughly enjoyed themselves with Max's overall fav's from the trip being David Amos's daughter Lucy  ( a credit to Dave!) and LilD and of course my Miami Vice pal Dubai!!
So what's been happening since I got back....

The evening before we left I had a balance of £2k left with Dubai and I invested £200 in Andy Carrol to break his duck that evening which was a loser and since then have lost £200 in a btts double Bury vs Southend and Inter/Palermo with the Italian match the only Sunday one without both teams scoring FML plus a PUNTERS bet on the footie handicap going by the wayside with not one of the 3 teams covering ironing out another £100 then on Sunday after seeing Camel/bobby saying some shrewdies were on NY Jets got £330 on the -5.5pt handicap and the result is one of the reason I hate betting on NFL as with 1 minute to play the Jets are 13 Yds from the endzone and lead by 1pt so I need a touchdown to collect and on this particular play they get another first down but the guy could have scored a touchdown if he carried on running but the "correct play was for him to STOP on the 1yd line and then they "take the knee" to end the game as if they score the touchdown which wins my bet the other team get the ball back and have the chance to get a touchdown and score an extra point which would send the match to overtime.

I had a small winner on over points in the Philly v Dallas game to claw back some ££ and then fancied Wigan +1 on the handicap but Dub's said laying Newcastle was better so I did that for £330 which was GG after 12mins so currently have £840 locked up with him.

As soon as we were back home Weds it was a case of me picking up the paint brush again as whilst we were away we had a downstairs toilet fitted in the old understairs cupboard and also in the 2nd bedroom had wardrobes and a toy trunk for Max fitted into the recesses of the chimney breast as we are hoping to move Max in there after Christmas to give him a few months to acclimatise to being in a big bedroom and his first bed so that come March we dont have him not settled and the newborn crying as well (well that's the plan anyways) so I have a list of stuff that I need to do which started literally the minute we got back home Weds morning before back to work Thurs.

The boys in the office did really well whilst I was away and there was no repeat of my last break away which was good plus they had a great sales result so we are in good shape going into next year. Petra was getting everything ready to fly to Slovakia Sunday which obv required different clothing to St.Kitts as thye currently have quite a bit of snow there so Bikini's were not needed and this is the last time she can fly and see her folks before the baby is due and gives her chance to see them before Christmas and she is a real trooper as being a nit she is flying with Max, 1 sports bag as hand luggage which needs to be caried, a pushchair and all this whilst being 6months pregnant obv it helps when you are good looking and can just ask someone for help but much kudos to her!!

So the back end of my week looked like this Friday work and then left at 2pm to get to DTD for the £500 which on Friday I played really badly followed by the drive back down south and up early for work for Saturday, rinse repeat the drive back upto DTD to reload and whilst the second bullet went better I exited on a bluff in a triple avg pot at 4/800 avg 52k feeling I had some equity but actually was drawing dead due to the turn being the nut card for my oppo and another drive down south was made before Sunday taking Petra to Luton airport for her flight which enabled me to play the £50 Sunday afternoon tourney  where I finished 4th for £280 and had the priveldge of doubling up all bar 2 of the players  on the final table and was chastised for 5mins when I refused a saver of £50 for the 3 players who would not get paid and gave in after hearing "you will obv bubble", "we allways do deals", "the poker gods wont look good on you if you keep saying no"   ok ok give the next 3 £50 but it was all good.

Tuesday evening me and the boys in the office made a late decision to go and watch Southend play Brentford in the JP trophy and the owner of the firm came along as well which meant he paid for everything so after the match we end up in the Westcliff Casino on the seafront which has been refurbished by Genting and looks really good with a large central cocktail bar
http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/4808/cocktailbar.jpg[/img]]

and is set up that it will be the place for everyone to roll out of the clubs and donate with the 24hour opening now it is so easy to see how people will be seduced into it and after a few drinks there I donated £60 to the million pound makeover but that is all they were getting from me although I regret the 3am getting in with a days wrk on the house needed yesterday!

After 7 hours graft I decided to play the monthly £100 at said casino and a £5k gtee and watched 8x raises galore and just sat quietly hoping I might pick up a hand or even a spot to get some chips but this didnt happen till3 tables out and with 28k at 6/1200 after an older gentleman of the any2 variety opens utg to 10k I ship QQ and get called by the sb with  AI for his 20k and AQo OR and finish second to 45 obv leaving me 8k but a few ships later and a couple of get theres I had 80k with the avg 55k and sailed into the final table which was fairly short as the blinds were so high  and the avg stack only 13bigs so a chompyesque 7way chop of £700 each as there were many friends on the table including S O'Keefe, Dave Barnes (now residing in Southend) and other local faces from my old days there leaving £350 to play for deal was done and I bust in 3rd so added the profits to the £100 won in the cash game on the first break and a good night was had by all  Wink

Back in work after the 4.30 finish and am flagging already plus got more work on the house to do tonight as want to get to DTD Sat afternoon before Petra fly's back Sunday...

Nice read as ever more please. What a hero doing DIY, driving all over for a game of poker, betting on random sports, back to the office with no sleep. How do you fit it all in? I feel come March we can say GG and WP Ritch.                           The Romanian group were very good players but they did take it a bit to seriously for me, I caught the one guy reading super system around the pool.. I called him pigeon he looked confused, he had the last lath finalling in the main event.   Eureka effect/ blonde moment  Herbie flag means Hendon Mob Flag... if this was facebook id click the ILIKE tab.
