Tomorrow is going to be the start off a tough week for me. Going to be on the beer from midday and going out for meal tomorrow so it's going to be my first complete write off day since I started this. Then next week at work is year end (I'm an accountant) and is going to involve 12-15 hour days so getting to the gym and having time to cook good meals and eat at sensible times will be hard.
On the positive side been eating really healthy this week and been to the gym 3 times in the last 4 days so hoping that will be enough to negate tomorrow.

Wouldn't worry about one write off in a month m8 as it's not going to do any harm to long term goals and will shock your metabolism nicely. You've earned it so just enjoy it and then crack on from Sunday. A week missing the gym won't kill you maybe just adjust your calories by a few hundred a day if you're that worried and possibly prepare stuff at home to take to work. If you've got a microwave cook up some chicken/pasta type dishes or make up some chicken/chilli type stuff to take with some pittas. If you've got a microwave at work you're golden too and can even heat stuff up at work as opposed to eating it cold. Throw in some fruits/nuts as snacks and it'll be another healthy week in the books

Diet 27/01/12Protein Shake Protein Cookie 2x Pitta Chicken Breast 300g Lamb Cubes 200g Protein 216.5g Carbs 97g Fats 40g Cals 1614 Was meant to be going for a curry but that got rearranged so got a nice clean day in the books, got curry in my head now though so might have a tandoori mix grill on Sunday night. Got my chicken breasts and fillet steak out the freezer for tonight so I'm sorted for today and might try to talk my old dear into a roast tomorrow if I can I'm hoping that over the next couple weeks dropping a few more lbs might even ease the spasticity a bit as the tabs I'm on aren't. Will have to see and then make a decision regarding the dumbbells for home. My 3year membership is up in a few months anyway and I'd be back on normal rates of £300 a year as opposed to £16 per month anyway. The only stuff I use in the gym is the weights anyway so if I have them at home it saves the hassle of driving down there, hoping there is a place to park and negotiating gym traffic in what is a small gym. My liver is thanking me I'm sure for an alcohol free weekend after the gruelling few days I put it through last weekend

Marky147, I don't know you and I hope this isn't too forward. I can tell from a few of your posts you have some health problems of sorts (and there's a lot of posts on this forum to sift through) - can you tell me what ?
Thanks

No worries it's fine, I've had MS for about 4 years. It wasn't too problematic for a while and it's only the last 6 months it's been causing me huge problems with walking. I've got severe spasticity in my legs which causes me to look like I'm drunk for want of a better description when I walk and I can't really walk around outside at present because of this. I've been allocated to a brain injuries specialist because lesions on brain are classified as such as well as my neurologist now to try and sort it out as it's stopping me going to the gym and going out etc. There are a couple of non invasive treatments to try and if they don't work then the next option is one of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intrathecal_pump Bit of luck the next couple options will work so I don't have to think about turning into robocop lol. /derail

Sounds like you deal with everything pretty robustly, which is the only way I guess and means whatever happens you're just gonna get on with it. Good luck man

Sounds like you deal with everything pretty robustly, which is the only way I guess and means whatever happens you're just gonna get on with it. Good luck man Yeah the non invasive options are the nut outcome obviously and bit of luck they will alleviate some if not all. I'd have to go up to london as a patient for a couple weeks so they could lab rat me and manually inject different doses so as to gauge the efficacy of direct injection of the baclofen. If it only offered mild relief I wouldn't be going through the surgery anyway, I'd want to be at least restored to the level of function I had a couple years ago to warrant the procedure in my mind. In the grand scheme of things it's not that big a deal and I'm still luckier than 90% of people with MS and most people even without I think as far as how good my life is overall. It only effects me so for that I'm thankful and glad that in my family it was me that got it. My brother is married with a kid etc. and if he had something like this the impact would be much greater so at least we ran semi well in that respect I can still work albeit only because I work from home, I still get to go to on holidays and I can still get about albeit with crutches when outside at present. I also have perks like cheap rail travel, I don't queue at US immigration and get wheeled straight out to the taxis from the airport and several other little coups that I wouldn't get otherwise. It's always best to stay positive, keep the glass half full mindset and not let the issues define you. Fingers crossed we both run good (or as well as we can) in the health department for the longterm anyway
