25th June 18 stone 10 (no loss)

2015

8th Jan  18 stone 8

Happy with the starting weight since the last weigh in 6 months ago straight after xmas/NYE/my 40th in the last 2 weeks.  Over the past 6 months i have kept a relatively clean diet but not focused strongly on weight loss and portion wises.  This is my aim now going forward. I have maintained 3 times a week swims over the past 6 months so have a decent fitness base to also kick on from.  I will be posting my weight every Friday morning going forward.

The key change lifestyle wise moving forward is giving up all forms of poker.  Poker isn't worth the time/effort/travelling expenses anymore for me as the game has got tougher and it has big impacts on diets with unnecessary temptations to eat bad foods/drink alcohol and disrupt sleeping patterns which affect my day to day work/swimming/rest for the following week.  I have therefore made this decision to focus primarily on my day to day betting alongside my diet.  Trying to do 3 things intensely i found too hard and it left little time each week to actually relax.  My weekends now i can go swimming both days now rather than playing 2 day live mtts/travelling to them etc etc.

On top of the swimming i am adding in 3 30/40 minute walks a week inbetween my afternoon betfair work and evening betfair work (between 620pm and 730pm) on weds/thurs/fri to get extra exercise into my week and also to help get me away from the laptop for a forced hour break to help my concentration as weds/thurs/fri are long days for me from 11am-1030pm and it is easy to just sit at the machine for 12 hours and not move which is bad for my diet as well as financially for my concentration.

Sound reasoning.

Your weight loss progression is consistently getting lower too so I think you have cracked it.

Hopefully no more 6 months spells of not properly noting the weight, despite you not gaining any. Imagine if you stayed on top of it you would be in a better position now. However, I empathise, I did similarly and regret it, using that annoyance as a fuel never to do it again.

Just see a beautiful downward trend of weight in your future! Enjoy.

03/10/2014 - 15st 9 3/4
10/10/2014 - 14st 13 1/4

Good start although holiday weight is easily shifted as your body is holding way more than it should!

Been to the gym 4 times this week but fairly light as I am so unfit. Spin class today at 1030 so starting to ramp it up.

Positive for the week is cooking dinner every night. No microwave meals and crap as I usually do. Pleased with that aspect.

10lb first week is a hell of a loss, even accounting for salt/water loss

Week 1  4/01/2015   17 stone 3 lb
Week 2  11/01/2015   17 stone 0 lb  3lb loss

I've had zero exercise apart from working hard and I've had one or two small slip ups ....so really pleased to start with a 3 lb loss.

Ty I was blessed and cursed with a metabolism that shifts weight quickly but pits it on just as fast!

My nephew told me about a simple I phone app 7 minute work out challenge
My exercise excuse has always been I haven't got time !
Who doesnt have 7 mins ?

I had a go today it's a series of 30 second exercises with 10 seconds rest in between ......

I actually enjoyed doing it and am going to try it everyday.
For someone who's fit would find it very easy as I would of done a few years ago but for us fatties its a good work out.

Definitely getting involved from next Monday, I wanted rid of all the junk food built up over Christmas.   I have a hospital appointment on Wednesday to see about an ongoing back problem and hopefully get back into doing some gym work once thats out the way.

Screw it lets give this a go. Hopefully I can public shame myself into losing weight.

It is fair to say I have been well overweight all my adult life and done very little about it until last 2 years, with the exception of a health scare in my mid 20s. I probably topped out at over 19 stone but lost a lot travelling in early 2013 and was down to 16 1/2 by summer 2013.

My main weakness is binge eating food and alcohol. If there is food in my house that is anywhere near bad for me it gets eat. I have always been a binge drinker, can go weeks without a drink and then knock back 10+ pints on an evening out.

I used to do no exercise at all, though in the last 5ish years I have walked more. Last feb I did couch to 5k and have been running ever since, completed my first 10k race a couple of weekends ago and have a complete obsession with parkrun on saturday mornings. The fact I am still putting weight on, shows how terrible my diet is, when running 15-20 miles a week!

My weigh in this morning showed

12th Jan 2015 17st 9lbs

I would like to lose as much as possible down to around 14st but baby steps and all that.

Welcome aboard Mark.
Bolded bit hits the nail on the head imo. Congrats on the running though, good base to go from.

Perhaps you need some time targets for parkruns and 10ks to aim for

Buy less food that's bad for you. I have this problem if there is chocolate/biscuits/flapjacks etc in the cupboards I'll eat them
