Bit of advice from my old mucker Jared Tendler - plan out the roadblocks now. Everyone is super motivated now, but in a month maybe something is bound to crop up that throws a spanner in the works. Now is the time to try and work out what that may be, and how you will deal with it. For example, next week it is a mates birthday and he wants to go for a meal - so I have persuaded him to go Japanese rather than another curry.

+some to this one.  If they are good mates, they will know how much it means to you and give you a break while you order your salad or even understand if you decide to fade the meal altogether.  If they don't understand or don't care, then they prolly aren't good mates, so why break your diet for them?

Every month there will be a roadblock - birthdays, anniversaries, special events, holidays, Valentines, Easter, etc etc.  No getting past that lot without a plan.  In my (twisted logic perhaps) mind, I look at it as having had 20 years of excessive eating ~ now it is time to pay the piper.  6 months of good behaviour doesn't seem to high a price to pay.

What a farce of a morning. Can't find the charger for the camera so had to use a video camera and take still shots. Luckily as I live on an RAF Camp, we have key fobs so we can access the gym whenever we wish. So I went to the gym and after a little walk around I eventually found the scales. saw they only go upto 23 stone. fml. decided to hop on anyway, they were all shaky and look at least 50yrs old. It tells me I weigh in at 22 stone. I decide these are clearly broke!

So went home and have taken some pics of me on my bathroom scales just so everyone knows I am not trying to fob it off or whatever.

Here is one of me kind of hovering my right foot off the scale.

I will just do the challenge from a starting weight of 24 stone dead and will obv post as soon as it shows 24st with both feet on the ground. A couple of weeks ago it said 23,12 or something so it cant be too much more. I hope.

It would have been pure comedy if you had injured yourself on day one after standing on the scales on one leg and falling.

(I say that having just slipped over walking the dog and nearly hurting my ankle )

I've just bought a set of Weightwatchers scales from Sainsburys that go up to 28st. 1/2 price in the sale for £15, and they do body fat and BMI as well (not that I trust the %fat thing).

Good luck all. I'm also going to be attempting a weight loss before Vegas at end March. Aim to keep up with the 2lb/week as well, but don't really want to start for a couple of weeks while there's so much xmas food/chocs left. I'm too much of a life nit to throw them out. 19st 12 this morning Sad. So I'll be keeping an eye on this thread hoping for inspiration!
