how does everyone feel after first few days??

i think i have gone from 3500 (ish) calories per day to about 1500   is this too much or good going ?

hungry but other than that feel ok!!

Probably way too much to be sustainable. If you have the momentum about you to keep going then do so, but don't be too hard on yourself if in a few weeks you struggle. IMO stick to 1500 as long as you can, and when it becomes too hard, instead of having a blowout, go to 2250 a day (or something smaller than 3500) and pat yourself on the back for it.
i think i will look at food intake again after sundays weigh in and go from there !
i obv want to combine with some regular exercise

Hi Lee,

Good luck with this.

Would you mind posting what a typical day of 3500 calorie intake would be for you?

And what it is you're eating now it's 1500?

You definitely don't want to drop to just that, as Barry says, 2000 - 2500 is fine. I'm doing Insanity (a workout) for my preparation which declares you should look to have five meals of between 300-500 calories a day. Cut out bread, switch from pasta to brown rice or quinoa, lean meats only. Add a lot more fish to your diet as well and move across to skimmed milk.

...

If you're not yet doing much exercise and you have a sedentary job then 1500 wouldn't be a bad level to aim at. You don't burn many calories doing nothing, the more active you are - through work or exercise - then the higher the target should be.

It's indirectly referred to in what you suggested there - but as well as looking at calories, fat and sugar content is something to cut down on as well.

What I'm doing with my diet now is to workout the macronutrients of everything I eat and keep a track of it. This way if losing weight stalls at any point I can tweak it a little cutting certain things down by a bit and then see how that affects results. The 3 main components of your diet are Proteins/Carbs/Fats and I've found the best way for me to lose weight is high protein, low carbs and low/moderate fats.

My Protein MRP: Protein 40g, Carbs 23g, Fat 4.6g - 294cals

420g Chicken: Protein 92g,Carbs 0g, Fat 13g - 488cals

150g Sweet Pot:  Protein 3g, Carbs 34.5g, Fat 0g -100cals

100g Herr Roe:   Protein 20g, Carbs 0g, Fat 2g - 98cals

Pro 50:      Protein 50g, Carbs 9g, Fat 6.3g (5.5g sat) - 341cals

PeanutB (50g)    Protein 12g, Carbs 6.5g, Fat 25g (4.5g sat) - Cals 296

Maximilk:           Protein 30g, Carbs16.5g, Fat 0g - Cals 191

Protein:247g
Carbs:  89.5g
Fats:    51g

Cals:   1808

Was a bit of hassle for the first few weeks getting to know all the contents of stuff,  once I had it things are now quite easy and I can work out a days food according to my targets quite easily.

Something that might be good to do is to work out your maintenance calorie rate using a calculator like this http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html
and then gauge your daily macro requirements on that.

As a guide a deficit of 3500 cals  is equal to 1lb of weight so if you eat 500 cals under your maintenance rate daily 7x500 =3500 so you should drop 1lb a week 1k under a day for 2lbs etc. If you're doing a lot more cardio and tracking the calories burned you'll lose weight even quicker.

Bought some nuts from Holland and Barrett to munch on instead of crisps, just had 3 handfulls of Almond nuts as I watched the Man City game and 15 mins later I had the worst stomach pains i've ever had.
90 mins later and i'm still suffering. Never had a problem with nuts before and only had a few chicken legs for tea and a sandwich lunchtime, wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy, probably trapped wind or something but i'm rolling around as if i'm about to give birth.

It could be serious. If it's not better in the next half hour or so, can I have the rest of the chicken legs?

First day back in the office today.. [  ] trousers fit. Looks like someone has spray painted my legs black.

Yesterday my eating was.

9am VLCD shake
7pm Pasta bake
2 litres of water throughout.

This is probs the worst way to go about it, starving yourself the whole day then having a carb overload. I was in hospital from 12-5 and i did well to stay away from the canteen imo, but today it is full throttle.

Anyways I have a thing about uplifting music, stuff which sets you up for the day and fuels your motivation. What are peoples tunes for such a thing?
