Got an absolutely horrible run in to D-Day over the next couple of weeks, only just realised today tbh.

Starts with one of my bests mates 40th birthday this Saturday. Then am away next Monday to Thurs at a Docs conference which involves compulsory wining and dining each night, then the following Mon-Weds we have our company conference with nights out that are hard to avoid. Then am heading off on holiday the day after that so actually having to weigh in early.

So fuck knows how I'm lose much more really, but will do what I can.  Sad

Or you could do some exercise and burn off a few calories before these nights out.

Having recently changed jobs I'm working lots of later finishes so have been eating my tea at about 8:30. Trying to reduce the carbs but finding the change in eating patterns difficult to cope with.

Today I had :

Shreddies (largish bowl) with fresh orange - 10am
Beans on toast (4 slices of whole meal toast) - 2pm
Gammon with green beans - 8:30pm

I would normally have

Porridge (small bowl) - 8am
Beef Sandwich (2 slices whole meal bread) with soup - 12:30pm
Meat n two veg with potatoes - 6:30pm

With both I have fruit and lots of water. I would say its similar in terms of calories but I find it much harder with the first one.

Anybody else deal with shifts that can provide some assistance!?

I work shifts albeit from home so it's not quite as bad....

You could stil go with Porridge for your first meal as opposed to the Shreddies which at a guess are loaded with sugars etc.

Your meal today is better than what you'd normally have if you're trying to reduce carbs imo

Beans on Toast with 4 slices of toast isn't the greatest, could you maybe take a chicken wrap or something to work and eat that?

I'm lucky because I always have protein cookies or bars handy and have loads of chicken/rice to hand at all times.

My eating is very disjointed though and sometimes I'll go 8hrs without eating though, not that it matters though anyway. As long as you hit your macro targets for the day it makes no difference if you eat them in 2 meals or 6!

King for weight loss ime is high protein, low carb and low fat., everyone is different though and some are more carb sensitive than others.

I was having the same lunch as my "normal" day but was so hungry I kept ending up having bad things.

I think I'm going to try and have four smaller meals tomorrow. Maybe have porridge, sarnie, sushi pack the evening meal. Shouldn't be too bad if I keep the portions smaller.

Shreddies aren't that bad, theyre not as good as porridge but still not terrible so might keep having them to mix things up from time to time.

Either get rid of the bread or just have 1 slice. There's around 20g of carbs in each slice, beans are carbs too

I find that if I'm hungry I fail and end up eating something that's really bad.  Not sure what I would eat that fills me up without having bread at lunchtime.

I have lost over 20lbs eating bread so don't think it's the end of the world but guess I'm looking for any other ways people manage with weird shifts on here.

I think people get over obsessed about the carb thing tbh. As long your keeping within sensible boundaries caloriewise I don't see the problem.

I haven't restricted carbs at all, the weeks I've failed have been down to drinking, eating shyte and general lack of discipline, nothing to do with eating too many carbs.

If you were in decent condition and looking for that extra bit of help to get in tip top shape I can see the benefit, but for us lot being as overweight as we are I don't think it matters that much really.

Calories in v calories out should our main focus imo.

Wasn't going to do any exercise today but I decided to jog down to my dads and spend a few hours with him.

Completed 2.06 miles in 26:11. Felt really stiff from previous exercise this week and the jog was tough but I feel much better for doing it.

Gym tomoz. treadmill followed by a 30 minute pt session.
