We now have a gym onboard my oilrig.
But as of yet no equipment in it!
Tried 3 different weigh scales with 3 different results but it does mean I can compare 3 differentcsets of figures.
I have to say though that i think too many people focus on their weight as opposed to their shape/build.
My own personal goal is to fit into a shirt the wife has bought me (one of the shiteshirt range) which is the largest size they do, and barely fits me accross the shoulders and isnt even close accross my stomache ( where most of my excess weight seems to live). I don't care what I weigh, but I want to fit into that shirt in the summer.
Anyway, keep it up fellow fatties, we'll soon be the size we want to be!

Starting weight - January 9th: 21st 5lbs
January 22nd: 20st 8lbs
January 27th: 20st 3lbs
February 3rd: 20st 1lbs
February 10th: 19st 13lbs
February 17th: 19st 9lbs
Loss of 4 lbs this week.
24 lbs gone total.
Around 42 lbs more to go.
These numbers are really good, and obviously the result of a lot of hard work and dedication. Keep it up!

Been hitting the weights this week sporadically. Need to do more running. Definitely see the difference on me now, but clearly still about 3 stones worth of fat to shift. I think I am not too keen on running because of my size, might wait until another stone falls off before i try properly again.
Maybe you've heard of EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption), informally referred to as "afterburn." The concept is simply this: by keeping the intensity of your workouts high, you elevate your base metabolic rate, and you continue to burn calories long after you've finished exercising (around the 48 hour mark.) What this means is that, while running is great for overall health and it will burn fat
while you're doing it
, strength training and high intensity interval training are not only more fun but they will also allow your body to
continue burning fat
even while you're sat at work the next day. Here's a link to a
more detailed article on Bodybuilding.com
, which includes some really good exercise suggestions as well.

Remained vegan too and feel great for it. No urges to eat any meat or dairy and eating so healthily and a lot less has opened my eyes to the fact i overate as a comfort thing before.
Put up my likelihood of remaining vegan lifetime to 20% from 15%, as the way in which i can eat as much as i want of veggies and fruit along with potatoes and rice feels really nonrestrictive and the feeling of not having to calorie count or starve myself is great. I am probably missing a nice natural sauce to put on my food that isn't oily and makes me feel a little ill. Sticking to Dolmio sauce on Pasta as my only real adding of sauce, and know that isn't the best for me. Will just need to get less lazy and try a recipe for a nice natural sauce, because these dishes can be a little bland, but the added energy and boosted mood from eating them makes up for it.
If you're super strict about being vegan, then yes your dishes run the risk of being a little bland. Here's a couple of links I grabbed quickly, one specifically for
vegan sauces and dips
and one for
Vegangela.com
, where you'll find a bunch of great looking recipes. What I will invite you to explore is the allowance of eggs and perhaps milk into your diet. Obviously if you're incredibly strict with this vegan route then that's not an option, but it seems you're doing it for wellbeing reasons - which in itself is a great reason to re-include eggs. From a sanity perspective (ie "I really want sauce on my food") it seems beneficial to include eggs and whole milk as well. I very rarely put together a sauce because I just crack an egg or stir in a small amount of mozzarella or goat's cheese into my cooked rice or pasta. Just something to think about.

Becoming impatient if anything for the lot of the fat to be off of me as I don't feel fat anymore, it is just there on the end of me. It needs to go!
We all feel like this at some point. My goals at the minute are quite the opposite of yours, I'm looking to gain weight in the form of muscle, and if I could make weight gain progress like you are making weight loss progress then I'd have hit my targets months ago! You're doing really well mate, don't lose heart.
Thanks ZeroFive.
Not going to stray from Vegan as I am doing so well on it i fear any slight changes may bring about a slight downfall. Probably a psychological thing, but if you know thyself and know that doing it might make me more undisciplined generally with the diet, I should just take heed and stick to what I am doing. TY for the egg sauce recommend though and in particular the links to some vegan sauces that I will eventually try.
I actually don't mind the blandess too much in my dishes as i feel great on them, but when I do tire I know where to go on the vegan sauce front.
Thanks a lot for the explanation on the advantages of afterburn and that makes me feel better for opting for weights over running initially, and hopefully a decent amount of fat loss occurs continuing on with the weights.
On the me possibly becoming disillusioned front at how I want it all off now, it is actually me self motivating myself to push on further rather than me being annoyed. I am feeling good and I am just waiting for those days to tick by on the diet front so I can start throwing about a slender body in goal.

I set myself an
easy
realistic Feb target of losing 7lbs. This was due to a few monster nights out that were unavoidable, or I simply didn't want to avoid. Anyway, this morning I clocked up the 7lb loss, so fairly happy with that as quite a few beers got consumed.
I had already set myself a stiff target of losing a stone in March ~ no major events scheduled so figure it was attainable. However, I now have an extra week at the end of Feb to make sure I get there sensibly. If I hit that target, I'll be happy with where I'm at and then just looking to maintain/lose a smidge in the run-up to Vegas.

This week I am going to try harder.
I am still overcoming laziness myself. So that is why I made sure my diet was so militant, because I will still be losing if i don't exercise too much, ha!
It's psychological though, any time during the day you can get a run in or a short dumbell resistance session in, you should look at the routine you do to avoid it. Then look at how farcical it is, and then coax yourself into starting the session and normally when people start a session they can carry on with it, because they think well I have started now so I might as well finish.
It is sort of like going to school back in the day, you hated to do it in the morning, but once you were there it wasn't that bad and you sometimes felt better for it! ha.
Great stuff in your weight loss regardless and keep it up.

Haha, yes the bittersweet part of getting in shape! I had to replace all my 38" jeans with 34" so they fit at the waist and all my Medium t-shirts with XL so they fit at the shoulders.
Be prepared for a whole new wardrobe and to lose £'s while you lose lbs.

Starting weight - January 9th: 21st 5lbs
January 22nd: 20st 8lbs
January 27th: 20st 3lbs
February 3rd: 20st 1lbs
February 10th: 19st 13lbs
February 17th: 19st 9lbs
February 24th: 19st 7lbs
Loss of 2lbs this week.
Actually had a day on Wednesday where I gained 3lbs from a nuts and crisps gorging session fueled by the addictiveness in MSG that was in all of the products I was ingesting. Morning after that travesty, I started working on my emotional responses to food and to counteract my possible future problems with it. Think it is when I start on these poorer types of food i find that i cannot control myself, so really i should work on not starting on them at all.
Whenever met with temptation I just visualise me eating it, and enjoying them on my tongue and swallowing for the perhaps 8 seconds it takes to go down your throat, and then I think too of the sensation of that food giving me feelings of indigestion and making me feel ill and a little tired, which lasts much longer than 8 minutes and could affect a lot of that day. Normally by the end of that small visualisation routine, I avoid happily, rather than with a longing for that food. Big milestone for me really as I think here on in, I will be really going at it in every way possible.
If i consider that 3 lbs weight gain in nuts, and assume i was going well all week, i would have lost 5lbs this week, which shows how the rest of my week is going well. Started to actually look forward to my meals, eat loads, eat all good stuff, and am starting to exercise hard.
I think the weeks from here on in, I will be going at about 5 days a week, good solid exercise, and along with the strict diet, hopefully things kick off better than they have been in the last say four weeks, where i have only been losing about 2lbs a week. Of course that is good in and of itself, but considering i have hardly moved in terms of exercise, I really want to see what my weight loss could be with it and that is definitely happening all of this week.

Seeing the fat on me less all around my body now, and its a great motivator to keep pushing on. Played a 30 mins spell up front for a mates 11 a side team too. We were at 1-1 at the time, i met a throw in with a big header that put the ball into the mixer and we scored from it, and that got us towards winning the game 3-1. My mobility was much better and I was causing a threat all game which is another huge plus.
I did find that even though my weight is down my fitness still is very bad as i haven't been testing out my cardio at all really for the last month. That is going to change here on in now, and the goal of the summer bod and full reversal of my bad ways, looks set to be done from the summer onwards, which would be awesome.
Just ticking along now and can't wait to see more and more improvements. Buzzing. Also I am hypothesising a 5lbs loss this week because i really am going to smash the running
But we will see, don't worry i won't be making any unhealthy shortcuts to get that loss, it will hopefully only be my fat going to get it!
As that was a huge wall of text, there was a dog picture inexplicably placed in the middle for the rofls.
