Thanks Simon, I noticed people doing both. Obvs depended on who was selling.

I’ve come back home with terrible bruises at the bottom of my back and thighs, they don’t actually hurt like a bruise but does look like I have taken a beaten. Could this be from the long flight? Has anyone else experienced this?

Never, but I think you should get checked out Scott- DVT etc - better to be safe ...

Don't know what it is and never experienced it either, but think you should get to the doctor fairly quickly.  Is there an out of hours gp near you?   I definitely wouldn't wait until Monday.

Thanks for the heads up guys, didn't even think it could be dangerous. I called 111, as I haven't got any other symptoms I have to see GP Monday, obvs if there is the slightest change I need to call back.

Non-stop returns to Vegas on Virgin Atlantic on various dates between November and March coming in at just over £300 from Gatwick (odd dates actually £298 on VA and £306 on BA) Some dates also have BA returns for a similar price on their Gatwick service.

Incred price if you fancy a week in Vegas and not fussed about taking a suitcase.

Might be able to get another £50 off those VA prices:

Is there a cooling off period for flights?

I saw 'Econ Delight' for £630 quid earlier this week, and now Prem is £730... Was going to see if I can say I misclicked, and then rebook Cheesy

Haha!

I tried blagging it, but no luck.

'It would be £1k to upgrade to premium'

'Why would I do that, when I could book a new ticket for £700?'

'That's the way it works on the system'

To be fair, she was quite apologetic, but I'm guessing they're quite limited in what they can do, and it's all just clicking buttons for the helpcentre.

Yeah, me and the Pieman got raped a couple of weeks back....

Booked PE for 55k miles plus £440 taxes - advertised cost was £1100 so seemed fine
Following week a mate jumps on board, looks up the prices and books PE for £694

Meaning I set fire to my miles for the amazing equilevent of 0.4p a mile

 Cry

So tilting, but no doubt it won't be the last time it happens. On the flipside, I did ok last year.

She offered to let me use the old man's mile to upgrade, but I already knew there were no seats, as he'd booked the last two yesterday  Angry

Anyone done Vegas for New Year?

Any tips for New Years Eve?  Staying 30th to 8th, seems a few options. Downtown party, on the strip, various gigs and club parties?  Views would be welcome.  I can get a table at the Beer Park for $400 that sounded like a reasonable idea with location but scared I will be missing out!

Never been myself, but imagine it will be great. Albeit very busy, and lots of chaotic.

As for paying for a table in a bar, I wouldn't want to pay $400 and feel obliged to stay in one place.

I have done it once in 2012

We were put off partying on the strip as many of the croupiers talked about someone getting electrocuted the year before and things getting out of hand but that is 5 years ago now.

We were going to go and see Stevie Wonder at the Cosmo but were put off by the dress code stated at the ticket office, I obviously hadn't packed my tux, turns out they were talking utter garbage.
Then tried to get tickets for Bruno Mars at The Bank but that was sold out.

Ended up with a bottle of Grey Goose so we could sit at a table at a bar in the Palazzo with live music.

It was fine, but moral of the story is I would recommend making a plan, researching it and getting it sorted!

I don't think being in one place is a problem, but is your $400 a minimum spend or just a cover for the table?

Is there anything going at Beer Park for NYE?
I absolutely love the place for a few beers so if I was going from place to place it would be on the list, but not sure I would be booking it for the full night unless there was a big group?

Did it once Chris, spent the whole evening downtown and it was pretty fun, lots of live music and much less restrictive than the strip in terms of in and out of the casinos for drinks. Don't remember much else
