room service Friday at the encore
Order chicken strips $20
Fries $9
Sweet potato fries $9
Onion rings $9
1bottle water $?

Chicken wings turn up instead
She hates meat on the bone
I love wings
Ok we aren’t waiting 45 mins for it to be returned
I tip $10 cash
Reading the menu there’s 18% service charge
9 % tip !!!
I’ve signed for $63
Looking at bill on tv - found it by mistake!
It’s billed as $112 dollar
Fk me that’s £95
Raped again

I ordered food pool side at the Encore.  Won't be doing that again.  Very expensive, very mediocre, very long wait.  It's so hot  during wsop it isn't really too much of a problem to wander off inside for an hour and get a lot better for less, even with the general wynn-tax on property.

Quad Zeros next?

Think they're everywhere in Vegas now.

They'll just keep squeezing until they get a pushback, I guess.

Went to Ellis island - a friend nags us to go there ! - he went here  ten years ago !
I got news for him it’s turned into a smelly dump !
What a dump - avoid it
Tales of craft beer and best ribs in town
We had chicken Caesar salad n fish n chips $26 - the best bit was the price !
They say you gotta do everything in Vegas once !

Lots of the Americans love it, because you can get a steak dinner for under $10, and think they do BBQ, too.

I was a lazy fucker before I became CEO of the raspberry express, and never understood the fascination with going miles out of your way to save a few $$.

Peppermill is another one, which was where they filmed some of the scenes in 'Casino'.

Think I can drive there from the Wynn, so might have look down there, and want to try 'Tacos El Gordo' as well.

Yes to bar b q but to Americans that’s just eating burnt fatty meat !
We had a couple of coronas in the bar n a Bloody Mary for Denise I tried 2 pints of stout too ,pretty good then we went in the village pub as it’s known and ate
Sadly the place had an odour not dissimilar to sweaty wellies
The bar out on the casino floor was full as was the restaurant
So it’s popular enough
But it’s not for us
Too posh for Ellis island
Too rough for the encore
I’m sure we will be fine at the nugget
Where after a phone call 12 nights in a corner suite 600 sq feet $2617 inc resort fee
Is what we’ve paid for 5-6 nights at the encore
Plus more chance of getting comped a few nights at the nugget

Plus poker comes in the 150-250$ price range
$1100 for the next three days here at the encore
After 2 hours of card dead in a sat last night it reminded why I enjoy pool time so much in Vegas - there’s no bad beats !
Unless of course you swallow a mouthful of pool water which is 95% piss n 5% chlorine 🤮🤮🤮

Is it easy to get an ITIN number before you travel out?

Can you get one out there if you haven't won anything.... just in case you do?

I believe it takes quite some time
Try this https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/how-do-i-apply-for-an-itin

from that link

You can apply for an ITIN any time during the year when you have a filing or reporting requirement. At a minimum, you should complete Form W-7 when you are ready to file your federal income tax return by the return’s prescribed due date. If the tax return you attach to Form W-7 is filed after the return's due date, you may owe interest and/or penalties.

So you can't get it on spec.

Thanks Doubleup.
Seems easier to do what I normally do and win less than the required ITIN amount.

Cheers

A letter to the encore

Firstly we would to say thank you
We enjoyed our stay but had to cut it short a bit as my mum was taken ill !
Everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming .literally everyone 10/10 scored !

Our room was nice but not as well laid out as the one we had at the Wynn last year 8/10 scored !

My only complaint would be about the food
On arrival our room was not ready until 1930
So after unpacking we felt tired
So we ordered chicken strips French fries sweet potato fries and onion rings - not exactly healthy I know buy hey ho
The server turned up with chicken wings
My Mrs the rather lovely Denise hates wings and other bone on type meat as in her words she feels like a dog chewing a bone !
We pointed this out to the server and she offered to change them but we didn’t want to wait another 40 minutes !

So she ate none of them .

I on the other hand like wings so I got to eat them .
The fries and onion rings were lukewarm at best so we only ate a few !

I understand the foods got to get upstairs etc but it wasn’t really warm enough! 2/10 scored

Our dinner as part of our dinner n show package was at Allegra
My meatballs were tasty but once again only Luke warm
Denise’s starter was fine
My chicken parmigiana looked like vomit on a plate with spaghetti next to it 5/10 scored

There you go
Sorry to write a bit negative but you need to know to improve

On the whole our stay was enjoyable though thank you
Tony and Denise

As it was Denise’s birthday no way was I going to complain and ruin her night so i ate  up n shut up !

Their reply

First off I want to say thank you for choosing to stay with us for this very special occasion. We realize that you can do so many different things for something as special as your wife’s birthday, so we appreciate you selecting us. Also,  thank you for your detailed feedback. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, though a few things did not meet your expectations.

We have addressed these things with our In Room Dining team and with our team over at Allegro, as we do wish to improve. I do realize that a few mistakes were made, most notably the chicken wings, so I do apologize about that. I know how it feels after a long day of travel, so again I apologize on behalf of In Room Dining for the shortfall.

Wishing you a wonderful Summer season, and please do not hesitate to reach out to me personally when you are planning your next trip to Las Vegas. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

That response is more than a touch luke warm. I’d give it only 3/10, tonytats.

Some of our esteemed Blondes have strong views on the use of exclamation marks, and I wonder whether this has something to do with it...

If Tikay was moonlighting answering complaints at the Encore, I suspect the answer would not have been so generous.  Maybe Jeeves stepped in to flesh out the original two word reply?  Master, you told them you had many years experience in a customer facing role... you must maintain a sense of decorum even after spending a fraught evening in a room full of Sky Poker customers...

Wink

I must correct you there Mr Suited. My (illogically) strong views are based upon their improper use, not the use of them as such, e.g., over-use, used in multiples, used in consecutive sentences. The latter is particularly troublesome, & tends to keep me awake at night.

It's rather silly of me to get hung up on such a trivial thing. I'm hardly Herbert Fowler, to whom I was introduced yesterday, but it's just a bit of ASIMS.

All tongue-in-cheek of course, keep it coming Lord Tats of the Bowler Hat, & best wishes to Lady Denise.

Oh my, very good.

A very passable impression of Jeeves, too - perhaps Doobs IS Jeeves?

For those flying back from Vegas on Virgin between the 3rd July and the 7th July, there are upgrades to Upper available on all those dates.  I have just paid 58,000 miles and the extra tax to upgrade from economy delight.   The extra tax wasn't very much, but I think they may have cocked up, as I was expecting more.

There are also upper upgrades on the way out on 23rd to 2nd July (excluding the 26th June and 27th June).  I didn't have the miles to do both, so picked the overnight.

I have only checked flights around my dates, but it is probably worth checking if you are out there this summer.

I assume this is related to a much bigger upper cabin than there used to be.
