My World Snooker bets to be lambasted and probably ignored Wink

Sky are doing a Sunday match accumulator on Walden/Ronnie/M.White & M. Williams all to win @ 5/2. I think this is a great price for those who can get on.

Highest Tournament Break. Interesting one this. I can see Ronnie trying to 'prove a point' and I think he will go all out for a maximum break in the Worlds. 4/1 with Sky again. He is also the same price to make a 147.

My pick to win overall (if the real Ronnie doesn't turn up) is Trump @ 7/1. He has the talent and I think he is maturing more with every tournament he plays. This could be his year. Shaun Murphy also a good e/w price @ 12/1 (A Murphy/Trump final is 28/1)

Thanks Alan.

The 147 is a maths bet, pure & simple - do we have any stats on it's probability?

We have done the same bet in previous years, but I don't recall the price, or the maths.

That's pretty nuts, espcially as two of them were by the same guy (the nominatively-determined jackpot name of Un-Nooh).

We have done the same bet in previous years, but I don't recall the price, or the maths.

Ronnie's last 147 was in 2014 at the UK. There has been  9 official 147's since then, including Robertson in the 2015 UK. The last one at the Worlds was remarkably Hendry back in 2012. Sorry, I dont do maths on bets but just think one is due this year at the Worlds. Also.....
With Ronnie turning down a recent 147 chance in the Welsh open because he felt the prize money wasn't enough, I think he will attempt to correct that image of him by trying that extra bit harder for the maximum at the Worlds this year.

Anyway, I get the feeling my tips were not received that well. That is fine, I wont let it get to me this time. Hopefully, I prosper from the fun bets I get on this year at the Worlds. Looking forward to watching as much as I can this year.

A trivia question instead of a tip. How much did Steve Davis win when he did the 1st official 147 break recorded at the 1982 Lada Classic?

Think the stats and the increasing trend must make it a bet.  Unfortunately it is with Shy, so that must make it not a bet.  Good luck to those who are lucky enough to be able to bet with them.

Is anyone who likes Bolton also tempted to lay Man U at the weekend when they play Villa? Villa 16/1 or 12/1 draw no bet.

Thanks Tighty for the snooker post, very interesting and I shall take an interest in your man in that quarter!

they are received fine, unfortunately two are with Sky. if the notion of backing trump is supported, we'll back it. Personally, i think 7-1 is on the slim side given his path to the later stages. i prefer robertson to trump in that quarter but don't think either are much value.

there is no concept of "it is due" in sportsbetting, i think. each event is discrete, whether that be a frame or a tournament or even a season.

you might argue that the field is stronger in terms of depth and thus more of a field can hit maximums, that break building is better, that this expalins why the incidence might rise and that would all be fine. its not "due" though. in my opinion.

No problem. I agree that 7/1 is thin and also agree that it will be a close game if he faces Robertson in QF.

....A midlands team are 'due' to win the Premiership Wink

Afternoon Tighty.

I cant believe that having exorcised my Wigan demons last week that I am going to suggest we go against them at home tonight. Castleford have had some decent wins this season and their own injury problems are improving. Wigan still have the problem of scoring and have 10 first teamers out.

Suggest £15 Castleford at 2 to 1 with victor or betfred.

Castleford Wigan v Castleford Winner
2/1
Total Stake: £15.00
Potential Returns: £45.00

i once had to do a tour of a factory in castleford with work. my word, it was an eye-opener. needed an interpreter

castleford always reminds me of this classic commentary

"i cant spake" "you bottle-less git" "shove it up yer arse"

Kyren Wilson World Snooker Championship 4th Quarter Winner
10/1
Total Stake: £10.00
Potential Returns: £110.00

will wait on the other one to see if bet365 help is forthcoming. its the bet i prefer of the two bingham v carter bets

£20 of the stake is on for the Carter over 0.5 centuries at evens on my b366 account.

From memory, there is a small balance owed to me from months ago. We can settle up whenever suits Tikay.

I'll assume this is booked Tighty.
