always love the hfffyrrddrryyyrrr posts and the enthusiasm he posts about the City related bets, and he has made us all a good few quid too.

Not sure how old he is but he must have been a very frustrated punter for many.....many years, before his patience was rewarded.

Unless of course he has only just started supporting them Shocked

You can judge his age for yourself, Adzy - he's the one on the left with a pillow stuffed up his coat.

It's the angle, and the fact I have a few copies of The Daily Sport shoved in my coat. Just can't get enough of their writing style.

It’s straight out of the RP but I love the unders in the Tennesse @ Indy game. Lots of long run heavy drives from Tennessee who, I think, win with both teams in the teens.

So as we've established that certain freddites loves my City ramblings, and I'm bored cos it's international weekend, here is another.

Aymeric Laporte. Flying massively under the radar. Has started every game for City in the league this season putting in excellent performances week in week out. He's keeping Otamendi out the team, and Otamendi made the Premier League team of the season last year.

Guardiola loves him. A left footed ball playing centre half is Pep's wet dream. I don't think there are many players in the world whom Pep would go in for again after being snubbed initially, but Laporte was one of them, which in itself shows how highly regarded he is.

Taking a look at everyones favourite market, the PFA player of the year, and we see that Laporte is 100/1 (B365). Its very very hard for defenders to snag this award, for obvious reasons. So on the surface 100/1 could well be about right, albeit maybe a touch generous.

Dig a little deeper. VVD, another fine defender who's also having a great season, is 20/1 (B365) and as low as 16/1 elsewhere.

Something isn't right there, it can't be. Arguably the 2 best defenders in the league, playing in the 2 best defensive units, yet one price is way way shorter than the other. Perhaps VVD is more of a 'name' and obv has a bigger transfer fee on his shoulders, but both prices look wrong to me and somewhere in the middle ground feels about right.

No rec or anything, more an observation from an unbiased standpoint.

If only Bernardo Silva was as big as 100/1...... Wink

If the award was cold analysis of most influential players in the league, these prices would be crazy and we’d be a little bit rich(er).

If City wind up only conceding 15 goals or similar, there'd be every chance wouldn't there? Especially as nobody looks like tearing it up scoring wise.

I'd like to think he'd at least be in with a shout for a nomination shortlist.

At this rate he'll sleepwalk into the team of the season. If City can pull off a successful season with an incredibly tight defensive rearguard, he could be there or thereabouts. 100/1 feels too big for me (just like 20/1 VVD feels too small).

The problem is always going to be his 'unsexy' position. But Kante snagged it a couple years ago from an equally unsexy role so it can be done.

It's David Silva's to lose this year, and about bloody time.
