Probably sour grapes, but Spencer has to be the most over rated Jockey going. What a dreadful ride....

Back to the drawing board

Hope you are not watching the Channel 4 punditry team discuss that ride by Mr Spencer..........

Back to the drawing board

After he announced that a horse that I backed and that had lost by a nose "would have won if I had given it a crack of the whip" I simply decided not to back anything he rides.  Giving up a marginal good bet here and there is well worth it if it means avoiding the pain of his disasters.

Goodwood Summary for this afternoon.....

2.15 - Code of Honour, £25 @ 4/1, Money Back as Free Bet if 2nd.

2.45, Figure of Speech, £25 @ 6/4, Money Back as Free Bet if 2nd

3.15, Atlano, £25 @ 15/2, FREE BET

3.15, Mount Athos, £25 @ 4/1, Money Back if 2nd

3.45, Wild Coco, £25 @ 6/4, Money Back as Free Bet if 2nd

4.20, Amazing Maria, £50 EW @ 4/1. Misclick City if it wins.

Better, Wild Coco gets us off the mark, after a bad run on the cricket last night, and the early races today. This one was never in danger, and won easily under what looked like a fine ride by Queally.

Over to Mr Channing now, for the Getting Out Stakes, but at least we have an entry in the winners column now.

Lol what's the point of technology when a monkey is in charge of it?

he's elite umpire of the year, the 3rd umpire for this one. Appalling.

Anybody else want to lay Swann for top wicket taker when we head to Australia? Not a chance DRS will be used in that series now and be interesting to see how the bookies price it...

I don't think DRS is all that locked on not to be used. They need to sort out the chap on the controls. Maybe allow the English and Aussie men in white.

Of course DRS will be used. They are about to introduce real time snicko to add to it too. Only the BCCI get away with not using it, and thats down to their power/coffers

What Tighty said.

Why not just trust the umpire for everything except run outs and stumpings?

Wastes time.

the technology is good, and its meant to be there to remove the howler/human error decision

the problem is the use of the technology now has human error attached too

a sensible solution might be to remove teams reviews and for the 3rd umpire to call down each time there is a shocker, of which there won't be many

What defines a shocker though? You will end up blurring the lines even more imo.

yes thats fair

the umpires aren't good enough, on and off field. 3 or 4 shockers today, the latest the Smith non LBW which was plumb

doesn't help that the best umpires are Australian and English!!

WOW

That is superb from Neil.

Couldn't have that on my mind purely because Frankie has been so poor since his comeback, but that will have done his confidence some good.

Different gravy Mr Channing

Wild Coco and Amazing Maria Fred double. Merci beaucoup.

While I look for a pin sharpener, thank goodness someone knows what they're doing! Wouldn't back Dettori if he was in a land rover, but Neil pipes up with a rationale like that and I feel compelled to go with him.

Tikay, please PM me your algorithm for tomorrow Cheesy
