I get that about the rankings. Was just making the point that he has done well in the tournaments he's played. No data on how many balls he missed in those matches and so on.

Appreciate the money is in exhibition and money matches. Same very much the case in 8ball, which is where Appleton and Melling came from all those years ago.

Looks like a no bet, here, based on what we have, then. Never any issue taking feedback, so no worries.

Cheers.

Just at Bombay International Airport waiting for a flight, got a few more bet suggestions for you!

(Isn't it nice that I still think of you guys when I'm busy travelling - or maybe I'm just a gambling addict!)

Group B (ALO/BOT/MAS/RAI) - Felipe Massa @ 4/1 with Bet365. This bet is by no means a sure thing, but I do think it's worth backing given the price. Williams were way down the order in the two practice sessions yesterday, but they were heavy on fuel. On the other hand, Ferrari were at the sharp end of the field, but light on fuel I'm told. In qualifying and race trim it should be close. Massa has been ahead of Bottas in both practice sessions so far this weekend, so I really think 4/1 is as a good opportunity. Recommend £5.

Group D (VER/KVY/GRO/MAL) - Daniil Kvyat @ EVS with Bet365 OR Daniil Kyvat as Bet365 have decided to call him! This is becoming a common bet, the bookies seem to consistently over-rate Vergne and the two Lotus drivers for some reason. Daniil is the quickest driver in this group without doubt - he should come out on top under normal circumstances, why he isn't the favourite is beyond me. Recommend £10.

Limited to £1 on Massa,

Good news comparatively, could get £2 on Kvyat. At Evens

so will have to leave those, but thank you anyway

Just a word of caution on these markets. A market without competition from Betfair and prices offered by one or two firms is likely a recipe for poor value betting. The overround is 115% on these. I had a quick look for a similar market such as 3 ball matches in golf where there is more competition and the overround is around 110%.
If I've understood right we need the price to be 15% wrong before we can show any profit over time. It seems the bookies are going to struggle to make such big mistakes, even allowing for our specialist knowledge.
Thinking about it, from memory the times a bet has been suggested on a golf 3 ball on this thread has been when a player has been grossly mispriced due to being known to be struggling with an injury or similar.

...

...

and you have to watch the Oakland Waders tomorrow so you have my sympathies

It's next weekend, but I think it goes to show what an outstanding servant I am to Fred; we're on Miami to finish bottom in the AFC East, so I'm going to boo on all their third downs.

Sometimes online chat with bookmakers is like pulling teeth. It seems that they are so automatic saying 'traders decision' that they just say it to anything. The amazing thing is that they don't even have trading rooms any more!

[Joe] Hi James
[Joe] Hi, I have £xxxx on Meccas Angel at 9/4 in the Newbury 330,
there are four non runners now, please can you tell me what the rule 4 deduction will be if my bet wins and there are no more non runners?
[bookie support] This will be a traders decision that will be disclosed only after the race I'm afraid
[Joe] thats ridiculous
[Joe] i want to know what price i have
[Joe] its not a 'decision'
[Joe] its a fact
[bookie support] I can only quote the price of the time you placed the bet
[Joe] ok, please tell me the price of the horses that are withdrawn (and I'll work out the rule 4 myself)
....
This went on for 30 minutes, he kept answering questions I wasn't asking like current price it was , what price I took etc but we eventually got there.

Imagine when they go to the pub after work

[barman] What would you like to drink?
[bookie support] 'Traders decision'

[bookie support 1] Shall we go and chat to those two girls over there?
[bookie support 2] 'Traders decision'

Imagine at a wedding:
[Vicar] Do you take this women to be your lawfully wedded wife?
[bookie support] 'Traders decision'

I challenge Tal, or anyone who fancies a go, to come up with the best 'traders decision' conversations or answers.

"What's Steve Bruce doing at our wedding?"
"Trader's decision."

Joe, the 366 website shows all R4 deductions with the times at which each applied?

I didn't get an email from Betway but DID get a phone call. Last Saturday, but missed it and they didn't know who'd called or why when I rang back. Guess I must be an elite customer.

Also, I did have one bet with them, plus the free £50 on Guernsey.

2014-08-07 09:48 Rory McIlroy @ 6.00 single 1 bet * 50 GBP 50 GBP 300 GBP

Boom! £50 on Worwee for the Open for a bit of interest.

Thanks Chompy, it wasn't with 366 unfortunately. I could work it out roughly from oddschecker but I've done that before and with multiple non runners it's not always 100% accurate. I just wanted to see if I was getting a worse price than it is now and I am. That's one advantage the bookies get over us, non runners who we wanted to run and we have to accept their prices at the time of withdrawal which is not usually in our favour.

Fair comment really, anyone who backed Rory for The Ooen must have inside knowledge.

Really quite extraordinary, these Betway people.

they used to call me every other day (at least) offering me 100% deposit bonuses

I said to the bloke with respect you sound a bit desperate for funds? He just laughed the South African laugh

Not that anybody can but i would not be overly confident having big funds with them, various things about them make me uncomfy
