Jeff is right... Fatigue can be a very big factor in games and can be the reason behind some strange results...it's one of the reasons I had the warriors over Dallas last night and scoring more than 97... Mavs were playing there 3rd game in 3 nights and 9th in 12... Warriors had had their feet up for 3 days.Reports Friday were dallas were already suffering and so it turned out as Dallas got an old fashioned kicking.

One odd thing.. Jeff was quite correct about the hornets but the game had disappeared off the bet365 site when I tried to get on ...

Can we sin bin Chompy, please?

Introduce a card system, with days off tipping for real howlers?

And not accounting for weather risk. After all, New Zealand is so arid it will never rain....

This global warming mallarkey is obviously worse than I thought.

No "Daily Summary" today, as we had no action at all yesterday.

It may turn out to be the "back" in a "back to back to back" if we have no action today or tomorrow.

Basketball speak, see?

So, all the clever money for the festival is down.  Should be a quiet few days on here.

Reading my new Cheltenham guide, betting on the odds to win over evens (horse numbers) has a slight advantage over evens as there's one more of them in every race with odd numbers of runners. Currently available at just over evens at betfair.

Does that count or is it a silly bet too?

Odds are 1.97 on Betfair now and can be laid at 2.02.

The day1 favourites (from OddsChecker) with prices in parentheses are:

6  Darlan (6)
6  Sprinter Sacre (1.93)
1  Quantitativeeasing (7)
4  Hurricane Fly (1.91)
2  Scotsirish (4.5)
5  Quevega (1.57)
6  Bless The Wings (Cool

The number of runners in each race are:  19, 6, 19, 10, 16, 20, 20.

So, I'd say that the even numbers look good on day 1.

That's quite a small sample size.   Do faves tend to get even numbers or is it random?    Still think it was  a good value bet.

I'm pretty sure that it's random.
Yes, it was a good value bet (unless anyone can tell me why not).

You would need to make this bet several thousand times for it to be good value as the edge is minuscule imo.

Match odds tonight for the Arsenal Newcastle game are.......(betfair) are currently.......

Arsenal 1.4

Newcastle 9.0

Draw 5.5

Arsenal must be massive favourites, but that big?

RVP has scored 42 in 43 league Games

Ba accounts for 60% of Newcastle's goals

Both teams better up top than at back

I believe a speciality price out there is 11/2 for both to score any time tonight

Don't like specialty bets, not great value, but this was worth a second look I thought
