Aston Villa have had 2 victories from their 11 games in 2012 beating fulham at home and wolves away. They lost 5 and drew 4 with the draws being against relegation candidates. Since the turn of the year the side has been decimated by injuries. No Bent is a major blow cos Villa struggle to score anyway being one of the lowest scorers in the league. The spine of the team in Bent, Petrov, and Dunne is now missing and last two games have seen them ship 7 goals accordingly. McLeish will set up in traditional negative fashion hoping for a draw at Anfield. Nomatter how bad Pool are playing they still have quality and quality tends to turn an ordinary villa side over. Pool will have too much possession for it not to tell imo and I think they should clatter the villa. They haven't had such a bad run at Anfield for 60yrs and I think a side like villa are perfectly set up to see this run end.

May i recommend Justin Rose to be top englishman at the masters at 4/1 with betfair.

I've put reasons in the golf thread. I put him with same chance in the tournament as westwood and donald but they are worse than half the price.

im going to stick my neck out even further here and suggest another bet

ROBERT GARRIGUS TOP DEBUTANT MARKET US MASTERS £10 EWAY 16-1 (GENERAL 1-4 ODDS FIRST 3)

Right bradley is a deserved favourite but whether anybody should be 7-4 in a debutant market here. reasoning for robert is as follows

1. best on long yardage tracks

2. twice runner up in 2012 so in decent form

3. best results on bentgrass greens (in use here)

4. 8th in gir on tour and 7th in birdie average two of the more important stats here

personally i have backed him in this market and outright to trade but backing debutants to win at the masters will not work! this however looks a very fair bet

Interesting piece of unearthing there Mr HP, thank you.

I think we ought to get some feedback from our Golfy Chaps before plunging.

I hope they "like" though.

He is in good form and it should suit him. Its one of those Mr Channing horrid ew books tho where there are 15 runners and you are only getting three places. Its a pity there wasn't another runner to make it 16 and 4 places, tho there are a few at the bottom that will struggle to win it. So you are getting 16/5 he is in the first three for the place money, where with another runner you would have got 4/1 he was in the top 4., makes a big difference.

actually Ive just realised he is 16/1 with 1/4 the first three available so you are getting 4/1 the place.

Sri Lanka v England.
Laying the draw on Betfair is now 3.2 so well done to anyone who laid at 2.9 earlier.
England are 2.9 on Betwin and can be laid at 2.8 on Betfair for anyone who likes a small arb.

One for the value seekers and arbers alike- Kentucky to win NCAA basketball championship £330@10-11 with ladbrokes, lay £240 @1.80 on betfair. Works out you have £96 or so to win £108 or thereabouts depending on your commission rate, so you get 11/10 about a 4/5 shot

If your lay doesn't get taken which I'm 90% sure it will, il take 220 of the bet and the account can have 110 to win 100 as its plus ev at 10-11 anyway

Sorry wrote the numbers down slightly wrong as was copying from phone to iPad. Will edit in a min

oioiiiiiiii, pissed up.  n1 shallow.

Opening partnership 21. This simply cannot be a draw tikay. Cracked pitch already. Lay the draw anywhere around 2-1.

Overlaid this morning BADLY.

Probably too late now, but will go check the prices.

At what (minimum) price would you suggest it still reps value?

Correct tikay. If the draw should come in to 5-2 preferably 2-1 as it was much earlier, perhaps if sl bat well this afternoon, then that is the price.  It does look like a result pitch with the cracks and uneven bounce

Gotcha.

If I had a bigger 'roll, maybe I would have taken the chance yesterday, but I think it was right to wait until the conditions could be better assessed. That's the price of a) Not having enough gamble in me & b) Oversleeping this morning.

Next case.
