Bink Jelavic

No idea why tikay only had £20 on it - what a nit.

good day for the Newcastle top 4 bet
Tips for tikay is on that, right?

Very spooky this.

Shortly after you posted that, I was chatting away on a nice table @ DTD, & sat two to my right was the very man who tipped it on this thread, that "Newcastle to finish Top 4" bet - "geordieneal". The price when he tipped it? 11/1. Well done him, & anyone else who got on. I was a non-believer, marv.

To be fair Newcastle have a stinker of a run in; Wigan (A), Chelsea (A), Man Citeh (H), Everton (A).  Can't see them doing too well out of that lot, but I couldn't see Wigan beating Manchester United and Arsenal, or QPR beating Arsenal and Liverpool and the Totterningtons so who knows?  This season has proven Jimmy Greaves right more than any other.

With this funny old game in mind I'd like to propose a throw away almost nonchalantly placed "who cares it's only money" £20 on Nikica Jelavić to score anytime 90 minutes for Everton against Manchester United @ 7/2.

Everton usually lose without breaking a sweat at Old Trafford and have recently proven how gutless they are losing pathetically in the FA Cup.  United haven't conceded a goal I think since February in the Premier League at home and there's no real reason at all to suggest that this fixture will be any different save Nikica Jelavić's recent form which has been excellent.

Therefore in this league of wagering through the looking glass, it's a banker!  Get on!

That is THE daftest bet ever seen on this thread, & you have written 3 paragraphs proving how silly it would be, & saying that it has no chance whatsoever.

(Once a week, we are allowed to do daft things. No moaners please, & don't do as I do).

On the flimsy pretence that I beat your price (so I'm 2-1 ahead on recommended prices today) I've just set fire to £20 with Ladbrokes @ 4/1, Jerlavic to miraculously score.

Wow, nearly!

Slightly less exciting, but still pleasing, Exeter are leading Northampton 10-3.

In the domestic cricket, Notts have scored one run off the last four overs - proper cricket. Wink

Cricinfor seems to be saying "Match delayed by rain".
It must be very localised because it's absolutely fine in Wilford.

Great tip and even better analysis Smiley wpwp

Did mention the tough run in for Newcastle in the original post....reckon we will need 6 or 7 points from the last 4 games, won't be easy but while we're playing like we are (6 wins in a row Cheesy ) there's still a chance

It has to be said Newcastle are the only ones playing like they want it.  Everyone else seems to be vying keenly for a Europa League place.  Not Pardew's biggest fan but he's manager of the season I think regardless of whether Newcastle finish top 4 or not.  Been waiting for Newcastle's good run to end since August and it hasn't really happened yet.

In the cricket, there has been one result, so it was not a whitewash. Two others have been drawn - boo! - and one is still playing, though not looking good.

Back next Wolves manager, Terry Connor, at this moment available at 1.27 to back.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17153404   Cliffs- Connor announced as manager till end of season

Betfair rules state 'Managers announced till end of season do not count for the purposes of this market'  THEN it states underneath, 'If a manager announced as a temporary replacement manages a team for 10 or more consecutive games, they will count as the manager for the purposes of this market'.

I believe that because it's not the clearest rules in the world there is still a price to back him, but with 13 games left in the season I can't see a downside to the bet.

http://www.wolves.co.uk/page/News/0,,10307~2622201,00.html

Is he still going to last the 10 games? If so, he's out to 4/5 now on Betfair.

How many games to go before this pays out?

I make it one game left... was looking fairly dodgy at one stage (Wolves have done as bad as they could have done basically), there was 2/1 available a couple of times after big defeats- 1.05/1.06 now though.

Betfair has just paid out.
Nice tip!

Inevitably I suppose, we were done by the weather

Several hour lost at Lords, and Durham were 82-6 chasing 120 in the end. One more hours play....

South of the river, play was abandoned with 4 hours to go and a result likely

Double research of weather forecasts for the next round of matches on Thursday. Long range, it looks bad so may be a watching brief
