Our NBA bet lost, lost good & proper actually, but the NBA results page had a delicious little write up, I love reading these things.

Kevin Durant, Thunder win Game 3, snap Spurs' 20-game winning streak

Spurs 82 - Thunder 102

Bla bla bla.....

San Antonio had been averaging 109.4 points per game during its month-and-a-half winning streak and had been held to double-digits only twice.

"We just played a good basketball game," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "We played with a lot of force, we played with good energy, but we played defensive-minded basketball.

"That's who we are. That's how we win."

LOVE that last line.

The end of this is pretty neat, too.

"They played like it was a closeout game, both offensively and defensively," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "They were very active, physical; they moved the ball well on offense. They did all those things better than we did. They beat us good."

Yup, we got beat good.

And finally, we see the Americanisation of the English Language at it's very best. In fact, I quite like this.

We are a prideful team.

prideful.  Yeah, right. That's what we are. It's what we do. Prideful.

Over 80 was defo NOT a tip. It was just my first thought and something I did some pretty poor work on. I was hoping that people on unders would smash it to pieces and save me some money. Certainly don't want the thread doing money on it though.

Daily Summary as at 0645, Friday 1st June.

NBA

Our NBA bet lost. We got beat good.

Cricket

In cricket, we have two County Cricket interests.

In this one, we are on SOMERSET.

Worcestershire: 340 (124.1 overs)
Somerset: 27-2 (14.0 overs)

And here, we are on Derbyshire.

Gloucestershire: 294 (92.3 overs)
Derbyshire: 95 & 211-5 (60.1 overs)

Thats who are are. It's what we do.

NB - Has anyone noticed that Tighty has not dared show his face in here to explain these? Pridefulless.

Golf.

In the Wales Open, I demand to know why it is not named "Welsh Open", but it's not. It's the Wales Open. The Handa Wales Open. Handa? WTF are they?

We have three x 72 hole match bets, in eacxh case versus Coetzee. We want Mr Coetzee to lose all three.

After Day One.

Coetzee Level Par

The three guys we have to whup him are.....

Marcel Siem. Three UNDER. This is good.

Matteo Manessero. Five OVER. This is bad.

Alex Noren. Ten OVER. Gone home.

So, we might squeak one out of the three. If we do, that's not so bad, we'll only do about £50 overall. We can live with that.

Noren had an incredible round. TEN OVER. What was ACE2M thinking? Maybe he thought that this Noren kid won this very same event last year, same course (Celtic Manor), same conditions (very windy).  Which he did. How amazing is that?

Meanwhile, in The Memorial, we are on Stricker, who is one OVER. The leading bunch are on 6, 5, & 3 under, but look likely to come back to the field. Chances yet. Its what we do.

Football.

We are on "Next Liverpoool Manager", Frank Rijkaard. We got beat good

Ahh, sorry if I read it wrong. I was having a bad day yesterday, & speed reading too much. My apols. It's what I do.

Vince did the homework, & if history is anything to go by, unders is the route. If history is anything to go by.......

Thing is, if history were always repeated, betting would be pretty easy, if a shade boring.

Quick note for our thread owner, & starter, Camel.

I think he jets off to Vegas today, where he's playing a bunch of WSOP jobs.

Safe journey Keith, win lots of money. Especially on the stake. Like, please?

And thanks for a great thread. It's been emotional.

What's coming up.

Our Cricket bets continue. Right Guard sales have dropped alarmingly.

In golf, our "beat Coetzee" saga enters Day Two. One down, two to go. Not in the modern parlance, but this looks like one time. I'd take that now.

In "The Memorial", Stricker goes out early today, I think. Come on Steve, one good round. Please.

The new Liverpool Manager will be announced @ 10am this morning. Walk on, walk on, with hope in our heart.....

But.......today is The Oaks, we have awaited this for a while, & we are on "Vow", @ 10/1, now mostly 9/2. Valooooo. Horsey is overdue a win for us too, good luck him.

Given that, collectively, we all win or lose on these stats, if anyone has advice, shoot.

Be rather good to actually take on board lessons, (if any), correct mistakes, do things better, plug leaks etc.

A small profit or loss in neither here nor there for most of us, we have had stonking value, & as long as we get somewhere close to break even, that's fine, we've had our fun for free.

What would not be acceptable - not to me, anyway - is dropping £700 several months in a row.

Not being critical of anyone here, but I like to try to do things as well as I can.

Hopefully, May was just variance.  My old Boss always said, "hope is for churches, give me the fucking facts".

Interested on your thoughts

Are you tempted to say Basketball and Horses are our biggest losers shall we drop them for a month.

Or

Lets run as normal

PS i know VOW may come in today but that aside.

Morning Trev.

Actually, no, I'm, not. I think we MIGHT be suffering from a bit of variance. Or would that be delusion on my part?

Basketball? Sample size is too small, but it troubles me repeatedly that it must be very tough to get profitable on a sport where the bookies leave no margin for error, & get the lines pretty much spot on. When we are generally talking 10/11 shots, we gotta win more than 50%, & we just don't.

In our profitable sports, ALL of them have occasional decent price binks, Football, Dogs, Greyhounds, RL, they all had one hit wonders that kept us profitable. I don't know how we will EVER do that backing 10/11 shots in NBA.

If we take, say, Golf, given the huge prices & variance, it's fine to be behind, (though we are not), because one good dart & we can win a grand. Not so in NBA.

So yes, NBA bothers me, but that's not a knock at Deano or Jeff, I just like to critically self-examine stuff. Modern society loves the blame culture - "it is someone else's fault", but that is just bollox, as you know.

I'm just not sure how we can ever turn NBA round. Suggestions welcome. If no good suggestions, then yeah, we drop it.

Horses? I'm less sure on that. Personally, I'd be more selective, bet more, but fewer bets. I don't really know, I can't really work out if we are doing it wrong, or running bad. If I recall correctly, we have had three good priced shots that got touched off on the line, or horror rides from the jock, worth around £800 in total. It'd look different then....or am I kidding myself?

Love the question, it's what we should do more of, learn.

You @ DTD today? Hope so, be cool to share a table again, so much fun last time.
