Oops Ballesteros now a NR.

!

Do we get our money back, Ralph?

The Wm Hill site is now saying.....

Rule 4 deductions
Win
Please note the early price bets struck prior to 10:11:02 will be subject to a 15p Rule 4 deduction

Yes...you get it back...rule 4 only applys to the remaing horses

Thanks Fraser, yes, I'm aware that R4 is just for those still in, but I was just a little unsure if the price I took had some obscure T & C's I may not be aware of.

My Wm Hill statement now shows the bet as a "NR" & the cash shown as refunded, though it has yet to show in my balance.

I actually trained as a settler, back in the late 60's or early 70's, with Wm Hill, they offered Settling Courses for £100 each or whatever, & I polled up one night every weeks for 10 weeks to an office in Oxford Street to do the course.

At the time, LBO's used "genies", which were settling calculators, this was way before computers were ever invented.

 http://www.vintagecalculators.com/html/betting-shop_calculators.html

However, for the Course, we had to do everything in our heads, all mental arithmetic. I was a late starter to numeracy, but soon shot past the field & was by now very proficient @ mental arithmetic, still am to a degree.

So, come the last course, & we had to sit a written exam, with anyone getting over 70% being offered a job as a Settler in a Wm Hill shop - LBO's were a fast growing market then. Anyone with over 90% got offered a job as a Trainee Manager.

I scored (pardon the chirp) 99.3%, & I can genuinely say, I was pretty pissed off not to get 100%. Maths is maths, & there are no excuses, we should get 100%, it's not like English, which is subjective.

Anyway, the question I messed up was (something like, pardon my memory, this was over 40 years ago),.....

"....Punter has a 5/- ew patent, & in race one, there are 6 runners, but there is a 2 shillings in the pound Rule 4, & his selection finished in a dead-heat for 2nd"......

Bastards.

I'm thinking this Pearl Secret might be a lay at 4/11 now.

He is priced up on potential not form.

He's only got a few pounds in hand on a few of his rivals on for, and although ultimately impressive at York last time, he did look in trouble for a stride or two.

And as noted before, he has got the worst of the draw today.

With Ballesteros out, I couldn't lay at 1/2, but he's pushing 1/3 now..

Chambers v Adamek

This is an intruiging fight between two small heavyweights (they are really just blown up cruiserweights).  Adamek is 45-2 and Chambers 36-2 with both of them having had a recent hiding from a Klitschko.  Their careers have gone down different paths as Adamek started off at light-heavy and stepped up to heavyweight in 2010 with the notable scalp of a Arreola.  Chambers has operated at heavyweight all his career largely due to his liking for burger and chips.  He has however started to take the game seriously and has come in at 208lbs in his last fight which was his lightest weight since 2003.  Recent images suggest he is in similar shape for this fight which is critical for the bet.  Adamek is a bit of a plodder who will keep coming forward all night.  Chambers is relatively slick for a heavyweight with fast hands, and if he is in shape I think he is capable of outboxing Adamek. He will also relish being in there with someone his own size rather than beiong up against a much bigger opponent.  I can see this being a very close fight and 2/1 Chambers seems pretty big to me.

Recommend £70 @ 2/1 Betfred

The Russians are drifting worse than a cast away boat

Avaliable at  Chandlers 5 -6 or Betfair or 1.86

Not sure why ? seems tremendous price ...maybe the  Russian Mafia are involved

Thanks Bazza, we have precisely that.

£70 @ 2/1, Chambers, with Betfred.

Wonder if the Russian mafia are involved ? only logical explanation

And there was me fretting that we'd miss the 8/11!

Interesting drift.

Russia may be drifting but i am having £30  Russia -1 Goal  3.45 Betfair

The way they disposed of The Czech Republic, this seems a Good Bet and I am sure they will win this game comfortably.

They really have impressed me, with there attacking Play.

just a quick heads up for next week, two must play e/w races.the bookies will HATE you having a bet in these races, and if they dont want you to have an e/w bet then thats a tip in itself.

Frankel (1/5) , Excelebration (15/2) , Strong Suit (11) , So You Think (12) , Worthadd (28) , Helmet (50) , Premio Loco (50) , Red Jazz (50) , Side Glance (50) , Indomito (66) , Bullet Train (200) , Windsor Palace (200)

Quote
Black Caviar (1/3) , Moonlight Cloud (15/2) , Bated Breath (Cool , Society Rock (12) , Wizz Kid (20) , Krypton Factor (25) , Ortensia (25) , Pastoral Player (33) , Power (33) , Reply (40) , The Cheka (40) , Amico Fritz (50) , Helmet (50) , Hitchens (50) , Royal Rock (50) , Sirius Prospect (50) , Bapak Chinta (66) , Crusade (66) , Genki (66) , Invincible Ash (66)  - Others  66 or more

usually quarter odds all races at Royal Ascot which adds another little sweetner

The same thing happened before the Russia/Czech Rep game. I thought I had done well getting 5/4 the night before, they went out to 6/4 and won 4-1.

I couldn't argue the Russia bet, myself. They'll want to win to guarantee winning the group and missing Germany

+1

....and if Mr.Kerzhakov could knock a few in, it would be most appreciated.
