Ladbrokes have a "What will Rooney do first?" market.
http://www.oddschecker.com/football/internationals/euro-2012/england-v-ukraine/what-will-rooney-do-first
Play the full match at 11/8 look like a NAP to me.
Good morning.
I have not seen the list (cannot access from here) but does this assume he will not be.....
Taken off late if we are 2-0 up to bolster up the defence?
Sent off?
Taken off as he has a yellow card & they want to protect him from a 2nd?
Subbed late because he lacked a little match fitnesss after sitting out since the end of the season?
Get injured?

I wouldn't put past either of them knocking past the poorest keeper in the ournament.
really?
Will try to be constructive rather than critical, its a pretty flimsy rationale for a bet.
I'll take Shay Given, half fit and 36yo as the poorest keeper in the tournament, thanks
Rooney/England 4-1 is skinny odds too
As for Milner, he's done what he's been asked to do for the team, not sure he'll be frustrated at doing what he does, which is a workaday right midfielder.

I'd have thought Rooney is nailed on to be subbed at some point if we're winning with 10/20 mins to go.
Rooney/England is 11/2 on Betfair fwiw
edit: this bet is Rooney FGS and England win, not Rooney anytime

One concurs with enthusiasm & gusto.

I'm envisaging a world where Frankel pulls up and doesn't win today, any value in a place lay at 1.05 on BF?
I think the heat maybe getting to me!

More chance of Rooney playing 90 mins and scoring a double hattrick I guess.

The short duration, as I explainerd to Mere in a PM, was due to external & very annoying reasons outwith my control. (NOT my bladder, I hastily add). It was a phone call from my bank in England (1) and an errant alarm clock in my room.
And yes, I've seen Cos's handiwork. In all seriousness, I'm humbled beyond words, I don't really know what to say to him & all the others. I am being serious now.
Anyway, must go, it is 0547, Starbucks opens @ 6am, & I like to be first in the queue for a Latte, & a mini-croissant, a
croissant-let
if you wish.
PS - Aaron - I am NOT dissing your Rooney bet, or being flippant/disrespectful, it is just my thinking that it is not, to my mind, a "nap". And believe me, I am an EXPERT on naps, I do a lot of them, they seem to occur naturally to me.

Yeah didn't think so, I was just thinking out loud
Skinny odds, but France should win tonight, 1.8 against a Swedish team that have nothing to play for

I dont think it is the worst bet in the world although I am amazed Keith or someone else hasn't already suggested a bit of e/w thievery on Excelebration. With regards to Frankel the horse is so far away the best horse in the race that if it is fit it wins almost all the time so the only occasions it loses it is often because something is wrong with it and therefore there is also a decent chance it doesn't place. I am not sure whether it is value to lay for the place but it is an expontentially better bet than the lay for the win in my view but the obvious best bet is Excelebration each way but it is also not going to do any accounts any favours.

The Frankel race was given on the thread as a dirty e/w coup a few pages ago.
Excelebration the second favourite, back it e/w, get the account closed sort of thing

Hadn't Shay Given made the most saves of any keeper in this tournament before the final match? Don't think he's done bad, not easy playing behind Richard Dunne, who has the turning circle of an oil tanker, and John O'Shea, who looks and plays like a deflated peter kay
