Didn't see the race but have seen it was second by 3/4 length. Report suggests it ran close.

A good dodge by Fred then?

hey Mere, Argies are faves but remember part of our bet was coz we thought these two may face each other, tho thought Argies would get second in their group and Brazil third, not tother way round, and Brazil beat dem Argies by 16 in a warm-up just before the games started. It was in Brazil, but featured the full squads. They are dangerous and tough but so are Brazil. Our boys are playing well, let's go Brazil!

Priddy having a shocker and seemingly there is nothing on the bench to replace. USA deserve to lose.

Italy definitely wanted it more. On at 5/6 they lose their next game and shorten to 4/7 anyway = value. More value we can't eat. I'm going back to tipping up 20/1 losers.

Newbury Racecourse's Best Dressed Gent. And What?

You won't get rich backing this but Bwin go 1/6 about a Jamaican 1-2 in the 200m final.

Given Bolt is 1.21-1.22 and Blake 6-6.2 for the win, and you've also got a third Jamaican running for you in the bet, I would suggest this is a pretty massive price.

Exchange is 1.18-1.23 for buttons so you might get done at 1/5 there if patient.

Not sure how you feel about 'buying money' but this rates a decent spot in my book.

Not saying this is a bad bet but why would you think it is a better bet than, say, betting Bolt to win @ 1/6 for example?

No problem and is a fair question.

I make the two of them in full flight perhaps 0.5secs clear of the field. I make the forecasted difference between Bolt/Blake<<<<<<<<<<<BB/Field even though both bets were similarly priced. I guess to my mind the first of these sentences constitutes why I felt 1/6=value, and the latter why I would take this selection over your proposed (hypothetical) alternative.

I think it's massive. If it was with any normal trustworthy firm it would be a networth job. With Bwin it's a swerve as can't get on, takes ages to get paid etc
