Think we are up to date on that glut of football bets now.

Swansea v West Ham (Aaron) - we will not be proceeding with this - too much negative comment.
Northampton v Southend (Jim) -ON

Blackburn v Leicester (Brent) -  ON.

Bolton v Forest, (LuckyJim) - ON

Hazard Penalty, (horsey) - ON

Notts Co v Walsall, (Dung Beetle) - Still undecided.

Oxford v Plymouth, (Dung". Still undecided.

Morning Tony

Swansea to beat West Ham was my suggestion , and the only comment (not negative) was Rich saying the price was about right at 11-10

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/swansea-v-west-ham/winner

I feel this is still a good bet for the reasons already state. Of course I fully understand the vicissitudes and workings of a democratic thread should you wish to swerve it , but to me it still  looks a stand out investment & of course Im on it already.

Good Luck with all your bets this weekend.

Fraser

Thanks Fraser.

Appreciate your comments, & yes, you are correct, it was your bet, not Aaron's, my apologies.

To me, when Tighty said "the price was about right", I took that as a negative - we are looking for value, where the price is wrong. We have plenty of football experts on here (count me out!), & there has been no warmth for the bet. In any event, £100 is way too much in this particular case, or it is for me.

If others come on & support the tip, I'll do it, but as of now, it's a swerve for me.

Needless to say, nothing is more likely now than a Swansea win......and for your sake, I hope they do.

Good luck Mr B.

Rugby League Challenge cup final.

Today Warrington play Leeds in one of the sporting events of the season. For most of this week I was convinced that I couldn't find a bet for this. Warrington are odds on and their wins recently against Wigan and St Helens show that on their day they are currently the best team. We can for give them their defeat to London as they rested many of their best players. Leeds have been average again this season and the most apt description of them would be dogged. They beat Wigan in the semi-final but that was the worst Wigan performance I have seen in years.

So I would like to back Warrington to win but 2/5 is not of interest to me. However I did have an epiphany whilst taking a shower. Leeds are without their most creative player, Maguire, and maybe Burrow as well. Without them Leeds may be aimless in attack and be forced to kick a lot. Leeds are not good at kicking and this may give a great opportunity for my favourite rugby league player, Brett Hodgson, to shine. So I am recommending Brett Hodgson to be Lance Todd man of the match £20 @ 7-1 with Blue Square.

Do you remember the famous Don Fox miss in front of the posts in the 1968 final for Wakefield v Leeds that meant Leeds won? Well I love the fact that just after he missed the kick he was given the Man of the match award.

Incidentally Mr Tikay karma continues, I came 3rd in an omaha hi/low jobie last night.

Delighted with the Karma. It lasts a long time, you know.

Never knew you were a Hi-Lo exponent? Lovely game, most relaxing. What site was that on?

Don Fox? You bet I remember! One of THE most famous commentary lines, by Eddie Waring.

He's missed it, poor lad

I hate to say it was on I - Poker.

Regarding Mr Fox. Any team that has a 2nd row as their place kicker deserves to lose.

Morning.

Serie A starts off this evening. First game is Fiorentina V Udinese. Both teams have changed their squads since the end of last season. Fiorentina have brought extremely well.

They've got arguably the second best midfield in the league after Juventus. Midfielders that have come in include Aqualani, Pizzarro (was on loan at man city), Borja Valero (from villareal), Matias Fernandez (from sporting) add to that El Hamdoui from Ajax (striker) and Rodriguez from Villareal (defender). Most importantly they've managed to keep hold of one of the stars of Serie A in Stevan Jovetic - may not be the case come the end of the month!

Udinese have lost 2 of their most influential players from last season in Isla and Asamoah and not really replaced them. Although they still have the deadly Di Natale.

Fiorentina are best priced 11/10 with Laddies. Its the first game of the season dont go crazy, I'll leave the stake up to you.

Thanks. I'll likely dabble later, it's a 5pm KO I believe.

I really want to see how we get on with the others first, as we have a good bit of money invested already. If we have a good day, we'll up the stake a bit, if a bad day, not so much.....

If tighty's logic is correct on the cricket,  then you should be backing Hampshire on betfair.  Not sure if 7/2 can be value on the outsider in a 4 runner race, but if it is 4.2/1 must be.  5.2 just got laid there on Hampshire, so I'd go for that price.  If not greedy then 5.1 is readily available.

I did mean to add that Yorkshire are less than 4 on betfair, so it was value.

The first test for our Spanish man on a bike. Today the race enters into Andorra.

The mountain finish is expected to favour Contador & Froome. It's likely Froome & his Sky team will apply the pressure & see if they can crack the main contenders.

As expected, that has made me giddy.

We have already backed Yorkshire, are you suggesting we back Hampshire too?
