Bugger it, I had an extra strong Ovaltine, & it has gone to my head.
I've decided to have £40 on India @ 13/8 with BetVictor.
Who owns this bet - was Doobsy first, or Tighty?
India to WIN the 1st Test v Engerland, £40 @ 13/8, BetVictor.
ON
India v England
India
(Match Betting)
Odds: 11/8
Stake: 40.00
Possible Return: 95.00
Tommorrow, @ 5am, I have to get up & do the TV "squeeze" - or "slow-reveal" as I saw it described today.
I shall be so excited.
If you took 13/8 me, 11/8 tighty!*
Tighty put up the series bet, I suggested we should back this test result. If he did put up the first test result first I didn't see it.
* not serious
Apologies, yes we are on at 11/8 (as per betslip) not 13/8 (as per doddery fart).
The bet is owned by Doobsy, & the spready will reflect that.

Morning Glenda.
How's the heater going?

If anybody doesn't mind having money locked up for a long time I would strongly suggest betting Knicks to win their division this season @ 2.75
http://www.paddypower.com/bet/basketball/us-basketball/nba-atlantic-division?ev_oc_grp_ids=372814
By far the weakest division in the NBA imo, raptors and nets won't be able to compete over the whole season. 76ers don't look very good at all at the minute (they still have bynum to come back from injury but I still don't think they are gona be all that great tbh.) Which leaves it to between Knicks and Celtics, Celtics are very inconsistent but will probably grind out a 45-50win season. Just love how the knicks look this year, they have clearly worked very hard in the preseason and it shows now.
You could even bet both the Knicks and the Celtics to win the division and still make money, I really don't think any of the other 3 teams has a shot.
I can go into more detail if you would like, let me know. I was just browsing paddypower before bed and saw this and figured I would post it.
Good morning.
Yes. I'm deffo interested in hearing more, if you don't mind. We might just have a bet there, though I need some help from our Basketball Corry's.
Apologies for missing that bet the night before last. I saw it, fully intended to back it, then promptly fell asleep.

Can any boxing gurus price up the Flintoff fight ?
Can't see anything out there yet, but would think 4/6 or better the yank is a max ?

4/6 probably a bit ambitious.

Wouldn't be waiting for 4/6. Little chance he would be sent in against someone they weren't very confident of him beating.
Meanwhile, the Ian Gascoigne of cricket has started his tour with aplomb:
Geoffrey Boycott BBC Test Match Special
"The biggest threat here for England is the batsmen making a mistake. The ball's coming through low and it's barely moved. But is Sehwag a great player? Don't kid me. He can only play well on certain surfaces. My mum could have batted better than him in England, after a couple of nets."

Boycs has been in top form this morning.
Talking of Boycott's parentage, I chanced upon this earlier today......
http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Geoff_Boycott%27s_Grandmother
Full of little gems.
".....Thankfully, a determined Margaret would defy her father's threats, and eventually would become one of the greatest cricketers England would ever produce, joining such legends as Gladstone Small, Peter Crouch and Chris Schofield in the cricketing Hall of Fame....."
And.....
".....Gough (Boycott's Grandmother....) would eventually go on to get married at age 23 to postman Dave Gorman and become parent to seven children. However, six of these would meet horrible ends working in the pits: little Jimmy had an unfortunate taste for canaries....."

That Walsall Bet.
After some overnight thoughtage, I decided it was worth investing a little more, so I have gone back & had another £30 @ 5/1 with BetVictor.
At present, this is on my own Account, not Fred.
If there is some warmth to move it across to the Fred Account, I'll happily do so, as it makes no difference to me personally either way.

Sir Geoff reveals he once turned down the chance to appear on "strictly come dancing" Shame - his technique would have been immaculate
Meanwhile, Colly is in the BCCI comm box and Athers is forced to broadcast for Sky from the far end of a dusty car park while a bleary eyed Bumble cogitates in a UK studio.
I was planning end of day updates tikay, and try and tie them in with the thread's multifarious bets for the match and series...hope that is ok.

Completely unspoilt technique. Averages 53.84 in first class cricket but in 30 T20 games has yet to make a 50
Proper batsman, technically far better than Sehwag who is lost on anything other than a flat track (averages 60 in India, 27 in England 25 in South Africa)

Ooh, yes, please do, I will omit mention in my Daily thingies.
I plan to try & bump into Bumble after close of play. I need a word.
