Newcastle in fa Cup tomorrow are 9/5 (with hills) away at Brighton.

Brighton sit 9th, with only a 3-0 win against Ipswich to there name in the last 6 games.  Newcastle go into the game maybe more relaxed away from the pressures of a looming relegation battle.

Lets say Brighton were 15th, and Newcastle 5th in the prem, (same gap currently) but lNewcastle had lost the last 3 games against Arsenal, Man utd and Everton. would they be 9/5?Huh??

Lets say Brighton were 5th in the prem and Newcastle 15th in the champs.  Woeful behind belief

6-1 to get relegated..............

Bet suggestion: Over 1.5 goals in the first half of the middlesbrough vs hastings game tomorrow at evens with ladbrokes or skybet.  Middlesbrough have had over 1.5 at half time in 6 from their last 9 games, and the golf between these two teams is huge.  Ofcourse it depends on what team their put out, but if you watched the televised game between hastings and harrogate in the last round, you will have seen how poor they were.  Bookies are expecting goals, over 2.5 ( for 90 minutes) is best priced at 2/5, I know most goals come in the second half of games, but i feel there could be value here.  Views welcome.

Just to follow this up, Middlesbrough lineup:

Middlesbrough Steele; Parnaby, Bailey, R Williams (Capt), Halliday, Reach, Smallwood, Thomson, L Williams, Zemmama, Miller. Subs Leutwiler (gk), Burgess, Morris, Jones, Haroun, McDonald, Jutkiewicz.

Article on the BBC websit titled 'Early Middlesbrough goal can quell Hastings - Mowbray' http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20912610  - basically he wants an early goal to quash hastings, im guessing he told his players as much so they will be going for it.

As for the price, obviously i don't like 10/11 as much as evens yesterday, but if you have a betway account, oddschecker show them at odds against (21/20) and you get a free £50 bet if you open an account.  I don't use them though so no idea how good they are or what the bonus requirements are.

Not pushing this bet further, just updating with some info if anyone decides to bet it.

Urgh, they just missed a penalty, i  bet overs in the newport v wrexham game last night at evens too and a pen was missed in that game early on. Tilt

Good luck bud, sorry we never got on, but no warmth was detected, & personally, I have more idea of who will win CBB than this game, sorry.

No worries, I don't take it personally.  I've posted 3 bets on here, you did the first (it lost) missed the second (it won) and missed this one, im hoping the trend continues if im honest lol.  1 -0 middlesbrough 21 mins gone puts it in with a decent chance.

Much bigger difference in talent between 5th and 15th in the Prem and 15th in the Prem and 5th in the Championship imo.

Amazingly, after I listed all the "recommends" this morning, we don't have a single bet on the Football this afternoon!

There is late Football today as well, & Live NFL tonight, followed by Live Golf. The first round of the Hyundai Golf Jobbie was abandoned due to poor weather, so they start again today.

So, for now, just hector's "UNDERS" bet on Exeter - Northampton. This is live on TV, 10 points after 20 minutes. Which is a shade too many......

Ha!

Gotta say, that Over 2.5 goals in the First Half looked the pick of the bunch to me.

Good luck mate.

3 points saved in the Rugby - they hit the upright with a simple penalty!

Good swerve, finished 1-0.  Can't help but think that missed pen was a killer, i'd take the same bet again though, i think middlesbrough will win by a decent score in the second half.  IF you have any spare run good send it to rochdale please.

I liked your over 1.5 goals bet for the first half, actually backed it, thought evens+ was far too generous and a good spot.

Heard the Hastings manager on the radio yesterday, sounded like they were treating it like an abso jolly with ppl talking about the night out after in the toon.

Def run bad with a missed pen against a keeper that only came into the team last min and was signed on loan yesterday!

Good value loser imo, Smiley

Hello all

Bit busy to research and recommend myself, but wasn't there some talk of getting on the Bengals as dogs at Houston tonight?

Houston's form has dropped off a cliff. Cincinatti a very under-rated defense and plenty of scoring options too

Should be quite close, and Houston are 1/2 outright, 4.5 point favourites on the spread

You can get nearly 2-1 the Bengals outright....

Camel? redarmi? Neil? Leknave? Horneris? Kukishkin? bobby1? anyone else I have forgotten?

yeah i quite like it aswell, seems the others like the other side pretty strongly though.

Tony,

Rich mentioned the Houston v Cincy game earlier. I imagined being against Houston too after watching their last 2 games , they seemed to have problems running the ball well which is a strong part of their O. I am a bit surprised by the line tho, it is now hovering around Houston -4. The thing that is drawing me to a bet on Houston now is at this  stage last season Cincy went to Houston in similar circumstances in the wild card round and Houston hammered them. Houston's form fell away at the end of last regular season too, as it has this year and they were down to their 3rd or 4th QB and Cincy were well fancied for the game, I think it went of Houston -4 then too.

If it got to -3 by kick off I will deffo be betting Houston but it's not strong, I doubt it will tho. I might have a small bet if it ends up - 3 1/2 but the diff between -3 and - 3/12 is pretty big.

Interestingly there is/used to be pretty solid thinking about not betting on rookie or bad qb's away from home in play off games. The other 3 games this weekend all have (imo) a bad QB in Ponder away at Green Bay, he has looked much better recently but I am  leaning to the bad qb away thinking and the two away teams 2morrow both have rookie QB's, tho Seattle are fav for that game and face Washington who also have a rookie at QB. It has been a pretty solid place to start your thinking from down the years.

btw if you are watching the games tonight keep an eye out for the Green Bay celebrations when they score a TD, it has become a tradition for the scorer to do a Lambeu leap into the crowd after scoring. The league have introduced penalties to stop over zealous celebrations which include dancing in a group, throwing the ball away and taunting the opposition. The anomaly is in Green Bay where it is just accepted that the scorer will jump into the crowd, get a few team mates to celebrate with him and often leave the ball in there but that never ever gets a penalty called.

Can  you imagine a rule in football which every team abided by except Man Utd because in the past they have celebrated the same way for 50 years. There would be uproar.
