I saw Lanzarote win at Kempton in 1973.

The race sticks in my mind because there was a big scramble to get on when one bookie chalked up 100/30 Lanzarote and one shrewdie tumbled over in the scrum.

this is a bit late but relates to the 3.10 at lingfield current price about 8-1 which is still to big imo suggest £20 win

Only bet for me today is Hanoverian Baron .  I think what this horse needs these days is a forcing ride over 10f.  He looked the winner of the November Handicap on his penultimate start, going clear until headed close home by three in-form horses, looking as though he wanted dropping in trip, as he had prior to that at Ascot.  He's only had one run since, when held up off a slow pace over 12f, which didn't suit him at all.  Back to 10f today, he's well drawn in stall 2 and has a jockey on who has won on him.  He's been off 51 days, which would be a worry normally, but he's won off this type of lay-off a couple of times and generally has an excellent record fresh, so clearly isn't a stuffy horse.  I don't think this is a good race, there aren't many well handicapped horses in it anyway, and it's certainly not as good as the November Handicap.  He's off 1lb lower today than he was there and looks to have optimum conditions, so I think he'll run a big race.
