Was it ever in doubt?

2/1 winner doing handstands.  Guess they'll take a while to pay out.

Wow, what a bet!

Now THAT is a Fred bet.

Very well spotted Doobsy, thank you.

As you say, it may well be months before we get paid out, but can't complain, it is the nature of the bet. I'm having lunch with one of the Production Team the week after next, I'll see if I can find some more info.

£100 in the bank, very very nice.

" have heard from within the preston camp that the westley effect may finally be dropping with the squad"

From reading their forums about 95% of Preston fans want him out.  And he was allowed to bring in his own entire first XI in the summer.

not surprising really given results

like i say have seen Coventry a lot recently and would go as far to say they have been lucky to achieve as many points as they have.

personally i can see any result possible but preston offer some value in my opinion

and i am not suggesting for a minute tighty does this but backing sides (or opposing them) purely on the basis of them being in or out of form will not get anybody anywhere in the lower leagues (or any league)

Afternoon h.

We could use a winner to get back on track, & that looks a good place to start.

-3 @ 10/11 is best price, quoted in several spots, though Ladbrokes go -5, & some go -4.

The Oddschecker page is here, for those interested.......

http://www.oddschecker.com/rugby-union/internationals/ireland-v-england-a/handicaps

We have £22 (I reduced it slightly as we like round numbers that old folks can calculate easily) @ 10/11, Blue Square, the, err, Wolfhounds to beat the Saxons.

ON

tikay,
sporting index make the irish 2-5 point favs
spreadex go 4-7,yet you are betting with only a 3 point handicap

this bet needs more than £22!!

Thanks man, I spotted the very same thing, but........

Hector gets a bit uncomfy when we start punting bigger than he recommends, & so I never exceed his recommended bet size.

That's not to say I may not have had a shilling ew for myself, though.

It's a psychology thing, it really takes him out of his comfort zone, & I don't want to do that. If he recommended, say, £20, & we started putting £100 on, I truly believe he would stop putting bets up. It just makes him uncomfy.

Gotta agree though, it looks a purler of a bet.

Fill yer boots. But don't tell hector.

Our 1st Birthday approaches, & we ain't half had some fun here, so over the next week, I'm going to put up a few of our Fred Specials, as those who were not with us from the start may have missed them.

How about this one, for starters.......

ok will PMN you now and then post it when you are on

Am ON.

£50 @ 17/20 (Bwin) on New York Giants to receive the ball first in Superbowl.

Phil will explain/justify later.

I will update the Fund later, gotta gooooooooo

Tx Phil.

You wouldn't normally bet summat like that and deffo not at 17/20 but.... the last 28 times the Pats have won the toss they have elected to kick it away. The Giants have a better record in winning the toss and receiving than kicking it away.

So unless the Pats win the toss and do the opposite of what they usually do they should defer if they win the toss, the most likely way the bet loses is the Giants win the toss and elect to kick it away, which they do the least when they do win the toss.

Bet is a 1/2 chance in the States.

so mate, we got you betting on the toss of a coin and what a team decide  do if they win that toss two days into your return, we will be spoofing and playing shove h'peny  next.

This was one of our first ever Bets, & it was on who would receive first in last year's Superbowl.

It seemed like we were betting on the toss of a coin, & only getting 17/20. In fact, it was the biggest nailed on certainty we have ever bet, & within days it had been bet off the boards.

A day later, we also bet on whether Madonna, in her Superbowl singy thing, would use a microphone, or a headset. That won, too.

I love this thread. aim was to get teeks back into sports betting, so far he's bet on a coin toss, a tv programme and the oscars. just brilliant

Gatters nailed it within days........

The TV Programme was bloody Chomps & CBB, the coin toss was the Superbowl thing, & the Oscars was our first ever bet, put up by Camel @ 4/6, which won hard-held at something ridiculous like 1/5.

It seemed all so easy then........

Are we prepared for this year's kick off, then?

we are as I have looked thru kick/receive stats and there isn't really a bet, which is a pity.
