RE: Snooker, several of the bookies will have offers from about 10 days before the start, ie money back if Selby wins it etc

Perhaps worth waiting

Ahh, true, thanks.

Jeez, nothing is simple, is it?!

Only worth waiting as don't really expect prices to move much now with no events til it starts.

Much better that you picked some longer prices a few weeks back though of course.  Smiley

What price would we be tempted to get involved in Bayern at ?

Nudge nudge wink wink.

4/6 @ Boyles seems close to me ?

Marvellous.

Sorry Ray, yesterday was such a rush for me, I had so much on my plate, plus we were busy organising a right coup here, that I missed your suggestion. Which of course won handsomely. varianbce has kicked in, overdue & as expected, big time.

No sorry needed, it wasn't a tip, if one of the "elders" had've gave a positive/neutral opinion I was getting on it to try and recoup from the Dubai bet, sighhhhhhhhhhs, nmind.

On the IPL is it true that Sri Lanka players are NOT allowed to play in Chennai for political reasons?

This is true. The semi finals are being played in Chennai too, so no Sri Lankans in the semis. Which means Malinga, Mumbais best bowler won't play.

I was reading about this earlier.  Seems like a good reason to back Chennai Super Kings, who have no Sri Lankans and have kept the majority of the squad that won the tournament in 2011 and 2010.  That said I'm not a big IPL fan and don't watch it religiously like I do with UK cricket.... Talking of which, the domestic season starts in 6 days, can't wait.

PS to Scottty.

How are our Greyhound Derby jobbies coming along?

Hoping, assuming it is on TV tomorrow, you can run the TV Greyhound thingie again, as you did last week. Good fun that.

The next Sky card is 17/04, we'll get another comp then, look forward to it.

Not much to mention on our selections thus far. Obviously Hellcat is running well, and I think Aldworth is potentially targetting the Scottish Derby before the Derby.

I have a few other fancies and am on 5 dogs at this stage but I'm keen not to give you too many and I'm hoping for others to get involved nearer the time.

Eoin Morgan gets a start for KKR today due to injuries to McCallum and Pattison not yet joining the team after the India test series. That'll be one more start than he made all of last year. KKR to bowl first.

I gather Pune have been backed heavily to win the IPL in Asia

Not the strongest side on paper, but Maldini did mention Pune earlier...

Grand National

Twiston Davies was interviewed this morning and said

"Asked to assess Imperial Commander's chances, the trainer said: "The National is the National but they should be superb. He jumps well and he's three stone well-in from when he won the Gold Cup [in 2010] and he can't be three stone worse since then, surely.""

Thoughts please. To what extent are his comments overly bullish, and to what extent realistic?

thanks

he is factually correct but 2010 was a long time ago

despite what they said that the horse was only 75% for its re appearance i struggle to believe that considering the horse has always been best fresh, has since had a setback and this stinks of an afterthought to me

if the horse is well then he will get into the race at some point due to ability but personally i will be amazed if he finishes the race
