Track record for Farloe Warhawk around Coventry tonight so looks like the form is back. He wasn't up against much but that has no impact on the time. Good news for the bet. Price should come in for that, although hasn't yet.

Although Ballymac Eske looks in superb condition, found his trapping boots and won the Scottish Derby at a canter.

Excellent news Scott, thanks.

We have £25 WIN @ 33/1.

Your Lebron MVP bet is weighed in. Incidentally, Carmelo got the other vote, we backed him for MVP of the All Star game at something like 16-1, what a bet that was, wish we could have that every day

http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2013/story/_/id/9244504/lebron-james-miami-heat-1-vote-shy-unanimous-mvp-honor

Lovely news!

More & more I enjoy these long-term sweats.

I think we will do more of them in the future, across all Sports. OK, a few will fall by the wayside, but we don't need many to get home, & they are great fun to follow.

Just checked again and Betvictor are Evs for the UK to finish 21st or below. But maybe £5 on the UK to finish last at 9-1 from Bwin? We may need Mr Chompys opinion as Bonnie claims to have a big European fan base centered around Germany.

Before we go any futher on ESC, I need to better understand how the system works.

Do we have to first "pre-qualify"?

Are we already guaranteed to be in the "Finals"?

We have quite an exposure already, thanks to you know who.

Sweden, £20 @ 12/1 (Chompy)

Netherlands, £10 @ 10/1, (Chompy).

UK, 21st or lower, £4 @ 7/4, (The Milkman.)

Moldova, £10 @ 200 (Chompy)

Walsall, £1,000 @ 66/1, Eso Kral.

Yes, lay £150 of Brighton at 3.3

Actually not too averse about laying the whole £300 and taking a £650 freeroll.

I think Brighton are a tad underpriced at 9/4.

5/2 still seems like the correct price to me.

I wouldn't want to get involved on Watford until their goalkeeping situation is clarified.

Wouldn't want a penny on them at 10/3 with the kid in goal.

Thanks Keith.

I'm minded to do as per the enboldened part. A guaranteed £600 or so seems rather tempting, to be honest.

I'll leave it until the morning & if no further views, proceed to do that.

I'm not advocating it, but if we wanted to lay there's some money on betfair to back a UK top 10 finish http://www.betfair.com/exchange/special-bets/market?id=1.108145521

Backing Bonnie to finish last ahead of Iceland (video features fish-gutting injury) doesn't seem like a great bet to me.

When the market gets a little wetter, I would think there will be a bottom market (easy, boys...) That is worth considering, no matter how utterly repulsive the opposition.

Been a year but the UK last year (with an actual proper band* that a lot of people in Europe has heard of) did only amass 10% of the points of this entry:

Didn't Fred bet on this?

Not that I recall, I think we backed some Russian Grannies or somesuch.

To be honest, I try to erase all this ESC nonsense from my mind. I feel so common getting involved, Henley, Royal Ascot & that sort of stuff is more my scene.

Rightyo, got a couple of long-terms racing punts to add to the portfolio.

Richard Hughes is going to win the jockeys' championship barring injury and it's worth trying to get a sneaky double on him and Richard Hannon to win the British trainers' championship. The two bets are sort of related. Sort of.
Spoilsports and Ladbrokes are best (both 4/9 and 5/4 respectively). Suggest £100 double.

Secret Gesture, 25-1 Oaks, Padraig or Hills
This market is still pretty open and, after watching the 1000 (no comma) again, I'm inclined to agree with Joseph O'B that Moth will be best on more conventional courses. I'm not sure Epsom will suit, while Just The Judge isn't a certain runner.
Secret Gesture is supposedly ahead of Talent in the Beckett pecking order and she's due to run in the Lingfield Trial at the weekend. She'll probably start favourite there.

Is there any danger of having my Accont Restricted by Laddies if they deem this a related bet? I could really do without losing that Account.

In a way, I'd rather have a bigger single on Hannon to win the Championship.

Thoughts?

I'm inclined to think they're not related. Perhaps as much as the Palace to beat Posh/Hudds-Barnsley to draw double.

The trainers' championship is decided by prizemoney. Hughes is Hannon's stable jockey and he gets plenty of winners from him. I honestly don't know in this spot but the double pays 9/4, which is obviously preferable.

Having spent 1/2 hr of my life that I'll never get back going through ESC entries, I now feel compelled to have a bet.

My recommend is Greece top ten finish, best priced 10/11 sportingbet. It's a standout for me in the memorability stakes.

I backed it with BetVictor where it can be found in the Entertainment category, in case you're looking Tikay..

Thanks Simon, I'll have a look in the morning.

I don't actually spend THAT much time perusing Novelty Bets, unlike Lord of the Fens Chompy.

Well yes, I'd much prefer 9/4, but I really cant afford to jeopardise my Laddies Account.

Have you asked anyone who knows about Pro Puntering? (In this instance, it would be better if I refrained from advising you).

That will have to do for now, I need to weed the flower beds before it gets dark.

I'll catch up with the rest, including Tighty's excellent Baseball & Cricket Updates, in the morning.

Was going to try and get my wedge on the Hannon-Hughes double tomorrow but...

Just rang Ladbrokes and he said the system won't let him put the two markets in a double, whichever combination you're after. He said he could have rung the traders to request a special price but, because it's a bank holiday, they's all cleared off. Ring back in the morning, he then sayed.

Will have an investigation tomorrow at some point, so hold for now.

Don't get this Greece love for the ESC at all. Plan on starting an ESC super thread at some point but, for now, we are on the wrong side of the Neths and Sweden. Not pleasing, not pleasing at all.

I notice from the ESC threads Spain and France are the bottom two.

Currently in the European community these are the two countries p*ssing everyone off the most, wont bore people with my economic synopsis, but is there a link to this and Ecomonic prosperity?

I notice countries with cash to chuck about, Ukraine, Russia, Norway are all atop the market.

Any correlation?

World Class player he may well be, but Ronnie quitting snooker more often than I quit smoking is getting a bit boring now.
