Gabbidon is 33

Has 11 league goals in 342 games

1 in the last 8 seasons, six of those were for West Ham in the Premiership: no goals

He scored 10 in four seasons for Cardiff as a younger player

50-1 doesn't look very interesting really (cue the inevitable happening)

If Garvan is on penalties for Palace (is he?) then 20-1 e/w him is interesting, but thats not a recommendation just an idle thought

Tal was too busy reading Chess Periodical to know what a proper comic was, I expect...

Beano and Dandy for me (in that order).

I learned all my poker moves from Dennis the Menace, Roger the Dodger and the Bash Street Kids.

Proper kids read Whizzer and Chips

Whizzer sounds like a niche, "specialist interest" magazine.

Don't see her being any shorter on the day tbh.

Moth will start shorter imo. She's Aidan's and ran in the 1000, which will always be considered the best Oaks trail. Conversely, as impressive as Gesture was, she beat trees and is unproven on decent ground.

Obv a lot will depend on what Liber Nauticus does in the Musidora but I've no issue with taking £200 out of a big potential profit to give nearly a freebie.

Understood. Have watched first two races and looks v progressive.

Beckett seems to get the day right with his fillies too.

Sensible for Fred, but I'm keeping the faith!

Greyhound Derby

Entries to the Derby close on the 22nd of May with the 1st round taking place on Friday the 31st of May and Saturday the 1st of June. Everything is heating up now with trainers grabbing their entry forms and attempting to get their dogs in top condition. Below I've highlighted our current bets and suggested two more - we currently have an exposure of £85 with one £10 bet already gone in the shape of Aldworth Samson who unfortunately suffered an injury last month. I'm not sure what kind of exposure you are after but I still think there is room for more.

Current Bets:

Farloe Warhawk - £25WIN @ 33/1

Still available at 33/1 despite two very nice runs at Coventry, including a track record performance. Only clocked 29:40s last despite making all but all sorts of rumours going about regarding that timing. Early pace is great and coming into the Derby in form. Big player.

Farloe Barracuda - £20EW @ 40/1

The best price available now is 33/1. Golden Sprint winner over Romford's 400m has continued to shine since whilst sprinting. The doubts are over his ability to get Wimbledon's 480m trip but we'll have a better idea tomorrow as he trials around the distance.

Jaytee Hellcat - £10WIN @ 100/1

Was backed on the basis of a really fast trial in March and since then hasn't disappointed in races and trials as he has shown great strength and pace. Feel Hellcat could be this year's Blonde Snapper, just wish he had a little better early pace but can win both ways and should be a good dog at qualifying through the rounds. Best price now 66/1.

Skate On - £10WIN @ 150/1

Hasn't been seen since the recommend but the 150/1 is now best price 100/1 with other quotes of as low as 40/1. Super fast around Romford, faster sectionals and times than Barracuda in fact and has some form over Wimbledon too although 480m is a battle for the dog. Couldn't turn down the 150/1 for a dog that can lead lots of races. Trainer confirmed that it goes in the Derby.

New Proposals:

Bridge Honcho - £10WIN @ 150/1 bet365

Was a highly thought of dog last year mixing it with the big guns like Ballymac Eske but an injury set it back somewhat and hasn't raced since December. Trialled round Coventry last two weeks and flashed home in 15:79s in a sprint which would be the second fastest time of the year and then yesterday went wild and ran 28:84s in a 485m trial which is faster than Farloe Warhawk's track record from last week. Obviously races much different from trials but nothing else running those times. A few missed breaks in its form which is obviously a negative but always shows early pace and can qualify through rounds with its ability and if it does break, which it can, then it will be a top contender. Not confirmed for Derby but worth £10. William Hill have cut it from 150/1 to 80/1 overnight but bet365 still have 150/1 on offer, take it.

Loughteen Blanco - £15WIN @ 66/1 bet365/WH

Bounced back from a 6 week lay-off by recording the fastest time of the year around Hove's 475m last night. Blessed with great early, he has the bonus of not having to lead to win too and that ability will see him through. Seems to run Wimbledon well with some very solid looking times. Obviously the time off has worked wonders afer not being on the best form in March. Could be a big player and I doubt price will last.

Fellow idiots,

I've found this website that calculates over round for you:

http://www.sportsbettingindex.com/odds-calculator.html

I can do it for conventional odds (when straightforward), but this is much easier for decimal stuff.

Most of you will need to stop rolling your eyes now. Some of us are still a bit...y'know...slow...

I met a guy in the Phillipines, ex golf trader and knew his stuff....punts golf for a living and owns a couple of businesses.  As he is on, I am sure he would not mind me sharing his views on this week, nice 300/1 sweat....£5ew banzai for thread down to me

"Hey Shaun..you have a xxxx account? right... ok, my golfer this week is seriously over priced by them..they where first to price up the golf and they put him up at a whopping 600/1... ive got the 600s and then the 400s which they cut to.. hes still 300/1 with them,...have a small bet on him..its a very weak field in the maderia open(Portugal)..hardly any of the top 100 playing...this chap is the local club professional..a young golfer but good...he could creep into a place... he shot a 59 around the course i found out last year, he knows it really well and seriously over priced for this field... Nuno Henriques - Maderia islands open... dont go mad.. make it a "just incase" bet..kinda like shane lowry who won the irish open as an amautur a few years back at 1000/1

the course is obviously going to be set up different as it a euro event, but still, this chap will know it inside out heres a source

Yes, lay £150 of Brighton at 3.3

Actually not too averse about laying the whole £300 and taking a £650 freeroll.

I think Brighton are a tad underpriced at 9/4.

5/2 still seems like the correct price to me.

I wouldn't want to get involved on Watford until their goalkeeping situation is clarified.

Wouldn't want a penny on them at 10/3 with the kid in goal.

That £300 lay was just the job, and we escaped with no damage.

Would have been nice to bink the bet, but we had a great run and tremendous fun, and it cost us nowt. Can't be bad.
