Wow at the memory of England winning the World Cup.
I watched the match in the most unexpected of places, but I remember it as if it were yesterday.
47 years, wtf?!
Is this one of those 'Guess the thing' threads?
A holding cell in Rhyl Police Station but the charges were never proved?

Which means that there are lots of members of this forum who don't remember Euro 96? Which means they only remember England football team on ever being terrible

What does Chompy think of the draw at various distances at Goodwood after this utter moron has done a great job of ruining one of the best punting weeks of the year?
Where do you stand on this "they'll all come over on this ground" theory?

I don’t know anything about cricket so this isn’t a tip, just pointing out what seems to be a bit of a price discrepancy for others to discuss perhaps.
Warwickshire v Somerset, T20 today. Fred Coleman for top Warwickshire batsman is 33/1 at BetFred, yet the next best is Paddy with 25/1, most others are between 8/1 – 12/1, and Coral/Vic go 7/1.
33/1 seems very high compared to the others?
33/1 is more accurate
21 year old Scottish batsman who has 9 runs in 4 T20s for Warwickshire typically batting at 8 and hasn't got to the crease in his last three T20s for Warwickshire
One for the future (has represented Scotland) but a big ask for him to top score coming in after
Chopra
Porterfield
Maddy
Clarke
Evans
Woakes
Would need to see Warwicks under 50 for 4 or 5 for him to get a shot.
I don't hate this bet at 33/1. You are completely correct, he will bat at 7 (or maybe even 8 if he comes in behind Javid) but given we have twice got bowed out for next to nothing this competition (including the other game vs Somerset) then there is a decent chance he will get a bat. I'm not getting involved myself but certainly wouldn't put anyone off who wanted a small bet on the game.
Rikki Clarke has top scored in 4 of our 9 games so far and, along with Chopra and Maddy, looks head and shoulders above what is a very ordinary team - 5/1 looks more than enough.
As far as the Essex bet goes, 14/1 looks really big, cheers for pointing it out

With a home qf they will be 6/1/13/2 and 3rd favs
Logically therefore, I have to make Essex a bet at 14-1 as I expect them to win tomorrow night quite confidently
Well I cannot get on with 365 or Stan James, but I CAN get 12/1 with Wm Hill.
I have taken £50 on my own (off-thread) Account, & Fred can have some or all of that if we decide 12/1 is acceptable.
I note that gherkin is typing a Post right now, lets see what he has to say.
I would say half for thread, unless anyone wants to go punchier

One or two probably don't remember the '66 World Cup, either.....

Today's Tal Asks What Am I Missing Question.
Caspar Netscher should like the soggy ground, in the 3.05 shouldn't he? Favourite won't. CN won the German 2.000 Guineas (put the German full stop in for Tikay, as I know he likes his commas).
12/1 across the board atm.
So...
What am I missing?

makes a lot of sense Tal. I think Aljamaaheer is almost certain to be a non-runner so a big rule 4. I guess Caspar will go off about 8/1 in the new market and Garswood will be the hot favourite at around 11/4 maybe shorter.

The favourite has already drifted, 5/2 out to near 4/1 on Betfair. Caspar Netscher hasn't showed much since the German 2.000. That probably explains the discrepancy. I have backed Caspar myself on one of his disappointing runs, so wouldn't entirely put you off. If you take the 12/1, do it with bet365 as you'll get a free bet in the next race if it wins.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

Super. Thanks.
Tikay won't back it, though. 100% guarantee that. Value or no value

First question: go to the OP and there's a link to a spreadsheet with every bet ever placed and how Fred did.
